PBR DRAFT 100: RISING STOCK
Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

The 2018 PBR Draft 100 has been updated with a few small tweaks following the World Wood Bat Championship in Jupiter, FL. The top 10 held true for the most part, with the top eight remaining in tact, RHP Cole Wilcox (Heritage HS, GA) bumping up to No. 9 and OF Mike Siani (William Penn Charter HS, PA) to No. 10. In The Hotlist, we’re taking a look at 10 players whose stock is rising, whether they moved up one spot or several from the initial rankings last month.

Addison Barger, SS, King HS, FL
Barger has made a name for himself, standing out at the Florida Diamond Club Showcase and again in Jupiter. He’s a quick-twitch athlete with range and a strong arm on defense. At the plate, he takes a short, level swing with above-average bat speed that creates hard contact.

THE NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT
Brandon Hall
North Carolina Director of Scouting

For 2017, the early signing period runs from November 8 – November 15.  The late signing period runs from April 11 – August 1.  The signing period is referencing a prospective student-athlete’s time frame to sign their National Letter of Intent to the 4-year college or university of their choosing.  The signing of an NLI has become a rite of passage for athletes across the country.  High schools, club teams, and families throw parties to celebrate the next step in their athlete’s process.

There are some things about the NLI all student-athletes should know as it is voluntary and it does carry a penalty if the agreement reached in the signed document is not fulfilled.  We are going to work to go through the NLI, what it does, and some of the rules surrounding the signing of the NLI.
