A look back at what happened at the Prep Baseball Report the week of January 30-February 5. Shooter Hunt evaluates the Florida Preseason All-State. Nathan Rode goes in depth with some uncomitted senior outfielders.The 15th annual took place this Sunday. DIGGING IN: ALL-TIME GREAT SUPER 60 PERFORMANCES

The 15th annual Super 60 Pro Showcase is set for Sunday, Feb. 5 at The Max in McCook, IL. The Super 60 is a true spectacle, certainly my favorite event of the year. Last year’s event was incredible, providing further proof that, despite being from predominantly cold-weather states, the talent is as strong as anywhere.

I still remember the very first Super 60 in 2003. In hindsight, it was embarrassing. The hitting and pitching was done inside a gutted-out barn, and there was a steady hum from a heating generator pulsing throughout the day. For the defensive portion, the scouts and players had to drive five minutes away to a tiny gymnasium. We put a lot of holes in the gym walls. It was ugly.

SUPER 60 SPOTLIGHT: LOOKING BACK AT THE STELLAR 2016 DRAFT CLASS

Over the last 14 years, the Super 60 Pro Showcase has built a rich history of high-level prospects participating in the event. But 2016 was a banner year for the Super 60, as it saw six past participants drafted in the first round, along with one second-rounder and two third-rounders.

Continuing to break down PBR Florida’s Preseason All State event, On the Hunt, takes a look at some of the top players in the 2020 class who really stood out at the event. The state of Florida has produced heaps of talent in the past, and early glimpses into what it’s 2020 class holds appears quite promising. Included in the list of seven players are three top level catchers, two athletic two-way prospects, a power hitting first baseman, and a frontline right-handed pitcher.
