Prep Baseball Report is proud to officially welcome Scott Hood as the Oklahoma and Kansas Assistant Scouting Director.  With a decade of Division 1 coaching experience, including eight at the University of Kansas, Hood has served under territory Scouting Supervisor Andy Urban prior to being promoted into his full-time role.

Born and raised in Tulsa, Hood’s baseball roots run deep throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. Prior to coming to Prep Baseball Report, Hood coached at the University of Kansas for eight years between 2012-2020. Before his service time at Kansas, Hood coached at South Dakota State for two years.

“Scott checks all the boxes we look for here,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “First and foremost, he’s a tireless worker with high-level baseball experiences. He’s also passionate about the territory, having won two state championships in Oklahoma, and was a player and a coach in Kansas. Above all, he’s a good dude who knows how to get after it and go.”

As a player, Hood won back-to-back Oklahoma 6A championships (2005-2006) at Tulsa Union HS before moving on to Allen County CC in Kansas for two years. Hood then went on to play at South Dakota State before being hired on as a coach there.

“As a collegiate coach that used the PBR website on a daily basis, I understand the value the company brings to helping promote players and give them a platform to showcase themselves as well as the value it brings to the coaches at the next level being able to identify players across the country,” Hood said. “I look forward to continuing to build our platform in this area where we are the true one-stop shop for all aspects of amateur baseball as well as being a part of helping players achieve their dreams of playing at the next level.

“I have always admired how PBR has been able to assemble a deep roster of scouts and data analysts to cover amateur baseball, and I am beyond excited to become a member of that team.”

Now Hood will bring his baseball experiences, connections and passions for scouting to Oklahoma and Kansas’ prep baseball scene. Working alongside Andy Urban, Hood will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Oklahoma and Kansas has ever seen, and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the states.
