PBR Welcomes Tell Taylor as new Wisconsin Scouting Director

PBR Staff

Prep Baseball Report is proud to officially welcome Tell Taylor as our new Wisconsin Scouting Director.  A Wisconsin native with a track record of success as a player, instructor and leader, Taylor’s roots run deep throughout the state.

Prior to coming to Prep Baseball Report, Taylor was in player development, on and off, for nine years, utilizing various technologies to help measure and track development,  along with his keen scouting eye to help players. Taylor also worked at the Brewers Academy for three years, serving as a team leader.

A versatile athlete who played nearly every position on the field during his decorated career at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 2010-2015, Taylor is well-versed in all facets of the game.

“Tell is a super-smart guy who checks all the boxes we look for here,” said Prep Baseball Report President Sean Duncan. “He embraces technology and traditional scouting conventions, he’s a grinder and a leader. Tell takes a lot of pride in his hometown state, and I know it will resonate with all the players, teams, coaches and parents in Wisconsin.  We are excited to welcome Tell to our team.”

Wisconsin is one of Prep Baseball Report’s most successful and tenured states thanks to the meticulous hard work of Steve Nielsen, who has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Baseball Operations. While Nielsen’s future efforts will skew more to national initiatives, he will still be heavily involved in Wisconsin baseball.

“Tell is a tireless worker with a passion and keen eye for the game of baseball,” said Nielsen. “His experiences around the state have garnered him a reputation of being a highly respected evaluator of talent, which will plug in seamlessly to our staff and mission in Wisconsin.”

“I’m very excited to get started with PBR,” Taylor said. “I’ve observed from a distance as the team has given players an amazing platform to be identified. PBR’s commitment to advanced player insight depth has made this a fantastic opportunity for me. PBR has assembled a very talented staff of good people, and there’s never been a better time to contribute.

“Steve Nielsen has left big shoes to fill, and a strong staff to work with. I’m looking forward to building relationships across the state and throughout the organization. My primary motivation will be to grow the game in Wisconsin. Hopefully I can honor Wisconsin’s growing baseball history.”

Now Taylor will bring his baseball experiences, connections and passions for scouting to Wisconsin’s amateur baseball scene. Working alongside Nielsen and Andy Sroka, Taylor will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Wisconsin has ever seen, and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state.
