Prep Baseball Report Announces New Scouting Staff in Arizona

Sean Duncan
President

Prep Baseball Report is thrilled to announce its new scouting staff in Arizona, headlined by long-time Division 1 associate head coach and recruiting coordinator Jeff Opalewski. Opalewski will be joined by Will Arnold to continue our year-round unparalleled scouting coverage in Arizona.

Opalewski and Arnold will provide a seamless transition from former PBR Arizona Scouting Director Jordon Banfield, who moved on to become associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Akron.

Opalewski brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Prep Baseball Report. He served as the associate head coach and recruiting coordinator at Central Michigan University from 2008-2018, where he established himself as one of the preeminent pitching coaches and recruiters in the Midwest. A tireless worker, Opalewski recruited 19 pitchers that were drafted or signed MLB contracts, and three Freshmen All-Americans, to name a few of his recruiting and development accolades. Opalewski, who currently works at IMG Academy in Florida, also was a volunteer coach at his alma mater Central Michigan from 2004-2006. He also served as pitching coach in the Northwoods League and New York Collegiate League.

Will Arnold will work under Opalewski as the Arizona Scouting Director. Arnold comes to the Prep Baseball Report after coaching three years at North Iowa Area Community College. Before his stint at NIACC, Arnold was an assistant coach at Central Michigan, where he worked with the catchers and hitters. After his college career at Central Michigan, Arnold played in the Frontier League and Pecos League for two seasons. He also coached in USA Baseball's Tournament of Stars.

Now Arnold and Opalewski bring their vast baseball experiences and passions for scouting to Arizona's prep baseball scene. They will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Arizona has seen and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state.
