Scout Notes: Region X Showcase Day 3

PBR was at Campbell University on September 23 - 25 for the annual Region X Showcase.  The event features 11 total teams from Region X.  Each team gets time to take BP indoors and then take a full infield/outfield, followed by two controlled scrimmages.  The Showcase, designed to give college coaches and pro scouts an early look at each school, has quickly become a hot spot for JUCO recruiting in the fall.

Today we dive into some of the athletes from Day 3 that stood out.  The event features pitchers throwing 1-2 innings apiece with each club working through their roster in their two scrimmages to give hitters a look at the live setting.  While it is much easier to put a report on the pitchers a the event, there were hitters from each day that stood out as well.  Day 2 featured Pitt CC, Patrick & Henry CC, USC Sumter, and Catawba Valley CC

Trent Pulliam, SO, RHP, PItt CC

Average frame with some length in the limbs.  Lean.   Level through balance.  Uses a hop, almost clearing the rubber to settle into his back side as the hands break.  Effort present.  Scapular load arm action can be somewhat violent.  Produces solid arm speed through an over-the-top slot.  Relief profile.  Fastball at
