So, You Think You Have It All Figured Out?

Dear Greatest Player To Ever Live,

In today’s society, if you’re good you get noticed.  When you get noticed, you get written about on a blog, website, etc.  When you get written about on a website, you begin to get compared to other good players from around the country.  And when you start to get compared to others, you are assigned a number, or better known as rank.

While this is all very nice to have and in fact can help you get noticed and extend your career, I have seen players buy so much into the hype that they lose sense of reality.

They lose feel of what got them there.  It’s almost like they got to a certain point in their career and they think that they can hit cruise control.  Even worse, they think that they have all the answers and that no one can tell them what to do because they have it all figured out.
