The Southern Alamance Patriots made the trip to Rolesville to take on the Rolesville Rams Friday and left with a coveted ticket to the 3rd round of the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs, after an 11-1 victory over the Rams. Braxton Cain turned in a 2 hit 1 run complete game performance for the Patriots, while 5 Patriots contributed multiple hits to seal the victory.
Southern exploded in the 3-inning plating 4 run, then 2 more in the 4th and finally adding 5 more runs in the 5th inning. The lone Rams score came on an RBI by Zachery Bolster in the home half of the 5th inning.
Southern now has a date with #1 overall seed in the east New Hanover on May 16 with a spot in the Eastern 4A Final 4 on the line. Rolesville ends the season with a 15-10 record.
