In an elimination game in District 4 of the 5A playoffs the Vikings controlled the entirety of the game. Hillcrest could never really get any momentum going in the game. Spartanburg struck first with a run in the 1st inning off the bat of Fulmer. Butehorn would contain Hillcrest the entire game, not allowing them to mount a comeback. Hillcrest had a chance in the middle of the game to scratch a few but Butehorn stranded them at 2nd and 3rd. Spartanburg moves on to play Blythewood for the 5A District 4 Championship.
