Summer Standouts: Uncommitted 2022s

After a long hot summer down in the sunshine state, we want to look back at the many players who stood out at showcases this year. Plenty of committed and uncommitted talent from each high school class made a name for themselves this summer and really stood out to our scouting staff.

Starting today, we will introduce our 2021 Summer Standout series. This series will highlight players from each class that really stood out at our events this summer. Today we will start with uncommitted 2022s. There are plenty of talented 2022s still available, and this list highlights a ton of them.

Uncommitted 2022 Standouts

KC Anchors C / 1B / Elite Squad Academy, FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 205-pound athletic physical frame. Capable in the box, Anchors recorded an exit velocity of 93 mph. (67.23 mph bat speed average). (19.42 mph hand speed average). Started in a tall open stance with a quick load, then used a short controlled stride. Bat speed was quick, displayed a short simple swing plane and high finish. Barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Behind the plate, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 78 mph; showed athletic quick feet, soft hands, and a quick exchange. showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.96-2.08. Tons of flexibility and athletic setup. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a short quick arm action and a ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.04. 

Danny Baez SS / 2B / Oviedo, FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 185-pound solid frame. Confident during batting practice, Baez recorded an exit velocity of 92 mph. Started in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled compact load, then used a small leg kick. Had quick bat speed, short uphill swing plane and high finish. Found multiple barrels with loud contacts. Pull side approach. Fluid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 83 mph; has rhythmic fluid feet, sure consistent hands, and a packing clean exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bases, used a ¾ slot with a compact arm action. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.82. 

David Bauer OF / 2B / Cardinal Gibbons, FL / 2022

5-foot-9, 145-pound athletic build. Confident during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. (65.39 mph bat speed average). (20.45 mph hand speed average). Begins in a crouched open stance with an arm bar tight load, then uses a short stride. Has a short level swing plane, quick bat speed and level finish. Created some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Athletic in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 84 mph; has a quick exchange, soft hands, and quick feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were quick. Used an-over-the-top slot with a long quick arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.54 60-yard dash. 

Alexander Berinato RHP / 1B / Palm Harbor University, FL / 2022

6-foot, 170-pound lean athletic frame. Capable on the mound, used a ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action while showing quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Showed athletic consistent balance point and even shoulders. Lands closed with an athletic finish. Slider (66-67 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 82-86 mph; has very consistent command and running tight action with sharp movement. (Max spin 1797; Avg 1562). His curveball (68-70) had sweeping swing and miss action and consistent around the zone command. (Max spin 1968; Avg 1826). Had command low in the zone and fading late action on his changeup (73-74).  

Ryan Braddock SS / 2B / Williston, FL / 2022

5-foot-9, 147-pound athletic frame. Capable in the box, Braddock clocked an exit velocity of 89 mph. (59.44 mph bat speed average). (18.74 mph hand speed average). Starts in a closed open stance with a wrapping tight load, then uses a toe tap stride. Has a level uphill swing plane and efficient bat speed. Had some loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 78 mph; shows a quick natural exchange, soft hands, and fluid feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed consistent accuracy to the base with a short arm action and a high ¾ slot. Showed off his speed at the event, running a swift 6.98 60-yard dash. 

Jameson Caro OF / Miami Christian , FL / 2022

6-foot-1, 198-pound physical lean frame. Above average in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 101 mph. Begins in a balanced wide stance with a controlled compact load, then uses a big leg kick. Has a loose simple swing plane, explosive bat speed and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Athletic from the outfield, he showed above average arm strength by making throws to the infield at velocities up to 90 mph. Had soft consistent hands, a clean fluid exchange, and choppy consistent footwork. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were quick. Used an-over-the-top slot and a longer arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. Recorded a 60 time of 7.05 at the event.
