The Hotlist: Recent Pop-Up Prospects

In the age of social media, it’s hard for players to fly completely under the radar, but some do manage to hide out for a little while—whether it’s simply because of exposure opportunities or the timetable with development. Listed alphabetically below are several players, regardless of class, that have burst onto the scene in recent months and are worth following for various reasons.

Sean Burch, OF, Jefferson Forest HS, VA (2016)
Burch is an elite runner and he knows it, trying to simply put the ball in play. He starts with an upright stance with a line drive to slap approach. He gets down the line in 3.9 seconds from the right side. Defensively, he’s a bit stiff and lacks arm strength, but he’s a good athlete and was an all-region selection at defensive back.
