Toledo Is The 'Wright' Choice For Jackson Senior

MASSILLON - The chance to both stay close to home and follow in his sister’s footsteps was too appealing to pass up for Trey Wright. When Toledo offered the Jackson senior, the 49th-rated player in Ohio’s 2019 class was more than willing to listen. “Toledo reached out to me earlier this year,” Wright explained. “I went to a camp there and they said they would keep in touch. They made it to a lot of my spring and summer games.” After participating in the Top Prospect Games in June, interest escalated. “They called when I got back from there,” Wright reflected. “I went on a visit and they made an offer there. A couple weeks ago they bumped it up and I took it.” Wright was more than happy to be headed to the same college his older sister Erinn attended and played softball. “The day has finally come to follow in the footsteps of my sister who went to Toledo,” Wright said about his 29-year-old sibling. “She loves I’m going there. It was clear from the start she was excited for me when I was looking at them and they were looking at me.” |
