Top Hitting Performances of 2018

As 2019 begins, we take a look at some of the top hitting performances we saw in the past year, which needless to say was a big year for the bats in Ontario.

Whether it be from our own camps and events, local league games, the Canada Cup, T12 performances and so on and so on, there were a few memorable performances that stood out to us at PBR Ontario and we take a look at a short list of what we saw at the dish in 2018.

Zach Laurie OF / RHP / Crestwood, ON / 2020

Report: Laurie, a St. Johns commit, will run a little and hit for power, a combination of skills that showed in Westfield, Niagara and at the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto. At the plate, Laurie gets his hands going early creating rhythm and bat whip. He loads with a regularly sized leg kick and finishes with an aggressive high finish. He gets the head out front and drives the low pitch. He works short and shows the ability to get on top of a mid-high fastball, and use the whole field. His ability to adjust at the plate to different pitch locations is a key factor to his success. His coming out party was at the Future Games where it seemed like he did damage and hit the ball hard every at-bat. Look for a big 2019 out of Laurie.
