Uncommitted Spotlight: CJ Maury

CJ Maury SS / 2B / Mayfield, ON / 2020

Prospect Update: Maury didn't exactly pass the eye test in 2018, but this winter he’s been getting after it and now stands 5-foot-11, 175-pounds and has reclassified to a 2020 grad. He instantly becomes one of the better defensive players in his class and from a hitting standpoint, the middle infielder showed flashes of his bat at the Canada Cup, which showed us that he has it in him to hit at the next level. With that in mind, the extra year of high school will give him an opportunity to gain some strength, make his defensive tools even louder and the switch to BBCOR in the CPBL may help Maury enhance his offensive productivity. Given the arm strength, his running ability and IQ to swipe bags, Maury has a shot to stick at SS when exploring his options at the next level.
