#4 Hanover Hawks hosted #21 Mechanicsville Mustangs on Tuesday night in a big cross-town rivalry. Hanover jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. A Seth Keller (ODU) hit and run that would put runners at first and second. That was followed up by a Cannon Peebles (ODU) RBI single into right field to make it 1-0 and Keller would later score on a passed ball to make it 2-0. That was all of the scoring that would happen on the night as Keller and Brett Allen (UMass-Amherst) were locked into a pitchers duel. Keller struck out eleven over six innings and Allen countered that with nine of his own over five innings pitched. #4 Hanover moves to 3-0 on the season and #21 Mechanicsville drops to 2-1.
