The Mills Godwin Eagles traveled to Douglas Freeman on Thursday night to take on the Mavericks.
The Eagles jumped out to an early three run lead, as Garrett Mason delivered a bases clearing double to right field that would score three. Freeman would answer with one run when Trey Shelton doubled to left center field to make it 3-1 after one inning. Godwin would tack on two more in the top of the fifth when Ashur Caraher doubled scoring Chance Muir. Caraher would score one pitch later on a George Gustafson single to make it 5-1 Eagles. In the top of the seventh Mills Godwin would put this one away with a four spot that included another bases clearing double from Garrett Mason that would bring the tally to its final score of 9-1. 2024 Hank Piersol was light's out in his first varsity start. The freshman got the win and threw six and one third innings, allowed one earned run, and scattered three hits.

Now for today's scout blog. We feature notes and video on eight players, including five uncommitted players.
