Way-Too-Early 2023 Mock Draft

Shooter Hunt
Vice President, Scouting

There is no rest for the scouting community, and while the book may be closed on the 2022 MLB Draft, the next one has been opened, and the summer circuit is quickly approaching its apex. The buzz that last summer created when the high school class of 2023 was anointed as the most talented amateur group has only risen, and combined with a strong crop of collegiate prospects, MLB scouting departments are already eyeing the value that next summer’s draft will bring.

Excitement fills each venue that these future draftees enter, and while the dust is still settling from the aftermath of the 2022 MLB Draft, PBR Draft HQ presents a way-too-early look at a first round mock draft for next summer. Yes, things will change. Players will improve their stock and prospects will elevate their abilities. Through all that, and over the course of the next year, you can count on PBR being there every step of the way, and providing the most credible and up-to-date information on all that amateur baseball has to offer.

Note: The MLB standings at the All-Star break is the order utilized below. In addition to likely movement the rest of the year, a draft lottery will be in place starting in 2023, giving non-playoff teams a chance at selecting first overall. Teams that do make the playoffs will select select in reverse order of their postseason finish.
