SCOUT BLOG

Greyson Wild (SMC Commit), Catawba Ridge, RHP, 2022  - Solid frame. Commands FB well, found strikes in all quadrants. Long arm action from a 3/4 slot. FB w/ hop up to 87, velo jumped as the game went along. Solid CB, 10/4 action, still a work in progress to lefties, but threw pitch for strikes vs. RHH. Confidence in pitch.

Cooper Parks, Uncommitted, York, RHP/INF, 2024 - Lanky frame, ways to go until he’s filled out. Projection is obvious. Quick, athletic actions on the mound and is aggressive at release point. Short arm action, combined with running FB gets on RHH quickly, generating jam shots. Sat 86-87, but can run up to 90 with max effort. Flashed breaking ball at 72, slurve-like, will get sharper as he matures. At the plate, barreled up 86 to lead off the game with a base hit.

Trace Thompson (CIU Commit), York, OF, 2022 - strong frame with athleticism. At the plate, uses lower half and core well to let barrel drag through the zone.  Has an ability to hit to all fields.

Ryley Stout, Uncommitted, York, SS, 2022 - LHH, starts with a stance slightly open with a medium leg kick. Keeps hands on plane nicely to avoid getting out of rhythm.  Gap to gap approach, disciplined hitter.
