PBR ProCase Standouts

Nathan Rode and PBR Staff

Over the course of the last couple months, several states have held ProCases, showcasing some top prospects. Leaders for various analytics can be found on the event page. The latest Hotlist looks at some standouts from those events.

Caden Capomaccio, RHP, Notre Dame Academy HS, WI (2022)
Listed at an athletic 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Capomaccio strung together an impressive bullpen with an improved four-pitch mix at the Midwest ProCase for Illinois and Wisconsin. From a rhythmic drop-and-drive type delivery, he has an athletic lower half downhill and rotates well onto a strong lead leg block at foot strike. The fastball sat 91-92 mph with life into the upper quadrant of the zone for strikes. He continues to display advanced feel for a sharp 81-83 mph slider with tight spin off an 11/5 plane, peaking at 2600-plus rpm. Capomaccio added a 76-78 knuckle curveball with 12/6 shape and depth that enhances his arsenal, allowing him to spin vertically and laterally. He completes his mix with a firm 83-87 mph changeup, killing spin and working from a similar slot to the fastball. The changeup peaked at 16.3 inches of horizontal movement.
