Quick Hitters: Offensive and defensive standouts from T24 Scout Day.

The T24  Scout Day took place on October 16th at Field Day Park in Clover, SC.  The event began with a pro-style workout for all the position players that included the 60 yard dash, BP with TrackMan ball flight analysis, and a defensive evaluation.  Then finished up with the pitchers throwing a bullpen with all pitches being tracked by Trackman. 

Below we will look at the quick hitters, offensively and defensively for the event.

QUICK HITTERS

 

Patrick Blee 2026 OF/INF (South Point (HS) • NC)

Strong physical frame for this young man at 6-0 180 pounds.  Showed great athleticism with present strength.  Showed power in the bat with a line drive approach to the pull side.  Showed good arm strength for his age with good carry on the ball.  Bright future ahead for this young athlete.   

 

Dion Brown 2024 INF/RHP (Clover (HS) • SC) 

Extremely athletic 2 way player that shows a big arm across the diamond with smooth actions in the infield.  Wiry strong lanky frame with a short compact swing.  Shows a good gap to gap line drive approach with great barrel control while consistently squaring balls up in BP.


Palmer Clinton 2022 1B/RHP (Clover (HS) • SC)

Big tall physical frame at 6-4 190.  Showed good arm strength while having good footwork in the field.  With the bat, showed power with great extension in the swing.  Bat stayed in the zone for a long time while using his leverage to drive the baseball.  

 

TJ McCluney 2025 C/RHP (Clover (HS) • SC)

This young hitter had a really solid round of batting practice.  Showing great barrel control and consistently squaring balls up in his rounds.  Had good bat speed in his flat bat path in the zone while staying long though the zone.  Was able to drive the ball from gap to gap in his rounds.  


Isaiah McDowell 2024 OF/INF (Hickory (HS) • NC)

6-0 190 pound strong frame with good present strength.  Took a really good BP, driving the ball around the yard.  Displayed good bat speed and a compact swing.  Showed good extension in his swing.  In the outfield showed a plus arm with great carry on the ball.

 

Jackson Mullen 2024 INF/RHP (Catawba Ridge (HS) • SC)

An athletic lean body at 6-1 165 with present strength and plenty of room to grow.  This 2 way athlete showed easy power in his swing with great carry on his balls.  Did a really good job of getting loaded up with his barrel and being able to drive the ball to all parts of the field.  Had well above arm strength in the infield with good actions.  Asrm strength will allow him to stay on the left side of the infield.

 

Cade Pilgrim 2024 OF/LHP (Clover (HS) • SC)

Took a really good solid round of batting practice by making good contact and spraying the ball around the field.  Had a gap to gap line drive approach with his good bat path.  In the outfield had above average arm strength with good carry and accuracy on throws.    


Aiden Smith 2026 INF/OF/RHP (Clover (HS) • SC)

This young athlete showed the ability to play all over the field. Showing plenty of arm strength from the outfield and infield.  In the infield displayed good defensive actions while moving feet well and fielding the ball out front.  In the batter's box had a good short stroke with a high finish allowing his to stay though the ball.  


Ariston Veasey 2024 C/RHP (Starr's Mill (HS) • GA)

A big time showing behind the plate with his arm strength and pop times.  Showing a plus arm with an 84 mph velo from behind the plate while displaying pop times in the range of 1.68-1.8.  Offensively showed good speed and power in his swing.  While a little uphill with swing when he did square up the ball, he showed the ability to drive the ball to all parts.
