Quick Hitters Pitchers: Pee Dee Regional Scout Day

The Pee Dee Region Scout Day took place on December 4th at Florence Legion Stadium in Florence, SC.
The event began with a defensive evaluation for catchers, pitcher bullpens with each pitch tracked by Trackman. A pro-style workout for all the position players followed that included the 60 yard dash, BP with TrackMan ball flight analysis, and a defensive evaluation.
Below we will look at the quick hitters from some pitchers for the event.

QUICK HITTERS - PITCHERS
Shemar Simes - 2023 - RHP
Large frame at 6-1 220 pounds with a big time arm running his fastball up 92 mph on the day. Good control athletic delivery with a smooth quick arm action from a ¾ slot. Fastball shows good late life to it down in the zone. Slider has good short late break to it with good arm speed on the pitch. Also throws a split that has good diving action to it.
Daniel Parker - 2025 - RHP
A smooth athletic and repeatable delivery with lightning in his arm with his FB 87-89. Really good arm speed with good life to FB with an average spin rate of 242264. Really good sinking and fading action on his CH with the feel for a curveball that he can throw for strikes.
Tanner Hall - 2023 - RHP
6-1 165 pound athletic frame with room to grow. Controlled tempo with a repeatable delivery. Short arm take away from a high ¾ slot. Fastball up to 86 mph with an average spin rate at 2253. Showed a good late breaking slider with great shape to it at 2-8 break with good depth. Good change down in the zone with with good sink and fade to it. Showed the ability to throw 3 pitches for strikes.
Bryce Coulter - 2023 - RHP
Physical athletic frame at 6-2 210 pounds. Good athletic delivery with good tempo to it. Clean take away with a ¾ arm slot and quick arm speed. Fastball up to 85 mph with an average spin rate at 1752. Fastball showed some life down in the zone. Curveball shows good shape to it with a 1/7 break and good spin to it. Slows are down a bit to throw but good action down in the zone.
Jayden Earle - 2022 - RHP
Lean frame at 6-0 175 pounds with some present strength. Quick tempo delivery with a short arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Fastball has good late sinking action to it down in the zone. Ran his fastball up to 85 with an average spin rate at 2006. Slider has a 2-8 break to it with good late movement to it with very good spin up to 2774.
Zachary Hunt - 2023 - RHP
Large frame at 6-1 215 pounds with present strength. Controlled delivery with good direction down the mound. A good clean smooth arm action from a ¾ slot. Shows good life on his fastball down in the zone running it up to 84 mph with an average spin at 2159. Slider shows good late break to it with some depth to it. Change-up has good sink and run to it down in the zone. Great feel for both offspeed pitches
Collin Minshew - 2023 - RHP
Lean frame at 6-0 160 pounds with present strength but room to grow as well. Athletic body with good control tempo in delivery. Showed a good short arm action with good arm speed from a ¾ arm slot. Fastball has good action to it with an average spin rate at 1887 and up to 83 mph. Feel for two offspeed pitches with a slider and a change-up.
Aydin Palmer - 2023 - LHP
Physical fram at 6-2 190 pounds with present strength and room to grow. Long loose arm swing from a high ¾ slot. Fastball up to 83 mph with an average spin rate at 2150. Good control delivery with good pace to it. Curveball has good bite to it with good fading action to change-up.
Cooper Coleman - 2025 - RHP
A young right hander with broad shoulders and plenty of room for added strength. FB up to 81 with avg spin at 2230. Good feel for 3 pitches with the ability to throw them for strikes. A smooth arm swing and tempo. Shows the ability to really spin his breaking ball and change up. Good direction in delivery with good leg drive. Really uses his lower half well.
Dylan Wiegel - 2023 - LHP
Long lean frame at 6-3 160 pounds with plenty of projection left. Slow paced delivery with a high ¾ arm slot. Ran fastball up to 81 mph with an average spin rate at 1793. Slider showed great shape to it with a 10-4 break. Change-up has late fading action to it. Good feel for his offspeed pitches.
Cole Winburn - 2024 - RHP
Athletic delivery with good tempo to it. Loose whippy arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fastball up 81 mph with an average spin rate at 1833 and shows late fade to it. Curve ball has a 2-8 breaking action to it. Good feel for the change-up with good run and sinking action to it down in the zone.
Landon Matthews - 2023 - RHP
Lean physical build at 6-2 195 pounds with present strength and room to grow. Good control tempo in delivery with good direction through the plate. Over the top arm action with straight action and fastball up to 80 mph with average spin rate of 1866. Good two pith mix with FB/CB and the CB coming out of the same high slot as the FB
Logan Arrants - 2022 - RHP
Long lean frame at 6-1 140 pounds with plenty of projection left on his frame. High ¾ arm slot with some fading action to his fastball. Fastball up to 78 mph with an average spin rate at 1925. Mixed in a curveball, slider, and change-up for his offspeed pitches. Showed good arm speed on pitches.
Dawson Lloyd - 2025 - RHP
5-10 160 pound frame with room to add strength. Has a smooth controlled tempo delivery with a short arm swing. Good 3 pitch mix, running his fastball up 77 with good life to it. Good soin and action on his breaking ball. Showed really good arm speed with his change up.
John Hucks - 2023 - RHP
5-11 160 pound frame with room to add strength. 4 pitch mix with a fastball, curveball, slider, and a cutter. Fastball up to 78 from a high ¾ with some sink and run to it. Kept good direction down the mound. Same arm speed on offspeed pitches as fastball.
