SC Preseason All-State North: Quick Hitter - UnderClass Position Players

On Saturday January 21st PBR of South Carolina was on hand at The Winthrop Ball Park for our Preseason All-State North Event. The event featured players from the 2023-2028 grad classes.

The day started with BP on the field with Trackman collecting ball flight data followed the defensive evaluations followed by laser timed 60.  Then pitchers throwing a controlled bullpen with Trackman collecting data analytics  to finish the day.

Quick Hitters - Underclass Position Players

 

Beau Hite, SS/RHP, 2028

5-9, 130-pound, lean, and athletic.  Hits with a simple, balanced setup from the right side. Utilizes a medium leg lift and stride to load up.  A good line drive approach is combined with a short, flat stroke through the zone.  Had a maximum distance of 267 feet and an exit velocity of 79.6 mph.  Demonstrated crisp, solid infield play while fielding the ball in front with good footwork.

Cody Branham, C, 2027

160-pound athletic frame, height 5-8.  A left-handed hitter with quick bat speed and outstanding swing extension.  Displayed some natural lift in swings while swinging with aggression.  With a 284-foot maximum exit distance and an 85.4 mph maximum exit velocity.  With a peak pop time of 2.1, throws to second base displayed extremely rapid exchanges and footwork behind the plate.

Graham Coleman, INF, 2027

145-pound frame, 5-9.  A right-handed batter who strikes from an upright, open stance.  Has a slight lift of the leg and steps into a balanced hitting position.  Showed a good gap to gap line drive approach with a maximum distance of 246 feet and an exit velocity of 86.4 mph.  When playing defense, the infielder displayed very fluid movements, sound footwork, and soft hands while displaying an arm strength up to 71 mph across the field.

Cooper DeVries, OF/RHP, 2027

6-0, 170 pounds; strong and athletic build.  Hits with a short stride, strong balance, and a wide stance.  Demonstrates good bat speed through the zone while taking aggressive swings and consistently making hard contact.  Has a maximum distance of 346 feet and a maximum exit speed of 91.7 mph.  Displayed strong arm power in the outfield, making accurate throws at a top speed of 82 mph.

Ayden Beeco, INF, 2026

A powerful 6-1, 175-pound frame.  Small stride to a hitting stance with a balanced setup.  Keeps moving uphill while staying behind the ball well with good extension out front.  Max exit velo of 84.3 mph and a max distance of 300 feet.  Show good athleticism in the  infield.  Shows good hand and foot workout with arm strength up to 68 mph across the diamond.

Johnny Compton, INF, 2026

5-11 155 pound athletic frame.  Hits with a short stride to a balanced hitting posture from a wider, balanced base.  He really engages his lower body in his swing while maintaining a short path through the ball that produces a max exit velo of 88 mph and a max distance of  338 feet.  Shows strong arm across the diamond when playing defense, along with solid footwork and hands. He can play all over the field thanks to his athleticism.

Eli Headley, C, 2026

5-7 145 pound frame.  Upright stance with a wide base with good rhythm.  Uses a medium leg lift and stride to get to a balanced hitting position.  Has natural lift in swing while staying through the ball.  Had a max exit velo of 84.7 mph and a max distance of 299 feet.  Behind the plate showed off good footwork with a quick exchange that produced a top pop time of 1.92.

Anthony Marano, C/RHP, 2026

A strong 6-1, 180-pound frame.  A stable base and a slightly open stance.  Has a moderate leg lift and strikes from a balanced posture.  A strong line drive approach with a maximum distance of 313 feet and an exit velocity of 87.2 mph.  A quick, crisp transfer with aggressive footwork behind the plate, with a top pop time of 2.07.

Reece Oakley, C, 2026

6-2 165 lean athletic frame with room to add on.  Upright simple setup with a wider base.  Uses a small leg lift and stride to balance.  Flat path through the ball with a line drive approach.  Had a max exit velo of 89.7 mph and a max distance of 326 feet.  Behind the plate showed good flexibility along with quick feet and exchange while producing a top pop time of 1.93.

Addison Rowland, C, 2026

6-2 170 pound lean wiry frame with good athleticism.  Hits from a simple setup with a wider base.  Uses a small lift and stride while getting to a good launch position.  A good flat path through the ball with some natural lift.  Swing produced a max exit velo of 85.8 mph and a max distance of 316 feet.  While battle a sore arm on the day still showed off his abilities behind the plate with good quick feet and good exchanges and accurate throws to 2B   

Max Wearing, 1B, 2026

6-0 203 poundstrong frame with present strength.  A left-handed batter who takes a short step and launches himself forward.  Gets the bat head out while attempting to do damage.  Maximum exit speed is 99.5 mph, while the maximum exit distance is 321 feet.  Demonstrates great power potential going forward, while also showing off good hand speed with consistent hard contact and a good line drive approach.

Carver Youngblood, INF, 2026

5-10 155 pound athletic frame.  Uses a small lift with a controlled left and a medium stride when striking from a balanced, upright stance.  Shows a nice line drive approach and a clean path down through the zone.  86.4 mph maximum exit speed and a maximum exit distance of 306 feet.  

Julian Baldwin, OF, 2025

6-1 185 pound strong physical frame.  Hit from a tall upright stance and uses a controlled load with a small stride forward.  Has a flat path through the ball with a good line drive approach producing consistent hard contact.  Had a max exit velo of 86.5 mph and a max distance of 307 feet.  

Tyler Bolemon, C, 2025

5-11 180 pound frame with present strength and room to add on.  Left handed hitter with a simple setup and balanced base.  Uses a controlled load and a medium leg lift and stride.  Has an uphill path through the ball with good extension out front.  Produced a max exit velo of 86.5 mph and a max distance of 322 feet.  Defensively showed good footwork and clean exchanges behind the plate while producing a top pop time of 2.08 with good accurate throws.

Ayden Clay, OF/INF, 2025

5-11 155 pound frame.  Has a controlled load and leg lift to a good balanced hitting position.  A good flat path through the ball with a line drive approach around the field.  Consistent contact with a max exit velo of 87.6 mph and a max distance of 336 feet.  Showed off good athleticism while showing the ability to play the infield and outfield while showing off good arm strength form both, up to 80 mph across the diamond and up to 88 mph in the outfield.

Breon Earle, OF, 2025

5-8, 160 pound athletic frame.  Hits with a short stride from a straightforward setup.  Line drive approach while producing consistent hard contact.  Produced a maximum distance of 297 feet and an exit velocity of 91.1 mph.  Did a good job of keeping the bat on plane through the ball.  Showed a good accurate arm from the outfield while up to 83 mph.  

Jackson Gordon, OF, 2025

6-0 165 pound wiry frame with room to add on.  Hits from a balanced setup with a controlled load and medium stride to balance.  Uphill path through the ball while producing a max exit velo of 88.8 mph and a max distance of 294 feet.  From the outfield arm was up to 83 mph while showing good carry on the ball. 

Kason Herlong, SS, 2025

6-0 170 pound athletic frame with a leg lift to toe tap to initiate the swing has a big extension out front and a beautiful flat path.  Really engages the legs during the swing to aid in producing good bat speed and swing direction.  Maintained a strong approach in the middle of the field while remaining above the ball and producing a max exit velo of 88.7 mph and a max distance of 296.  In the infield showed good clean actions with good hands and footwork.

Will Howard, 1B, 2025

6-foot-2, 200-pound large frame. Average exit velocity is 81.7 mph, with a top exit velocity of 91.6 mph.  Gap-to-gap approach with a flat barrel pat through the zone, the hands are strong.  Produced a max distance of 339 feet.  Good power potential in this bat while also showing good consistent contact.

Samuel Schwamb, C, 2025

6-1 183 pound strong physical frame. During his BP rounds, produced a maximum exit speed of 88.8 mph and a max distance of 332 feet . Strong hands strength at contact, balanced swing. From behind the plate, the arm reached 80 mph, while producing high end pop times.
