PBR was on hand for the inaugural Bigger Than Baseball Wood Bat Invite held at Field Day Park in Lake Wylie, SC.  The event featured teams from SC, NC, DE, and NY spread over a 17U, 16U, and 15U format.  Each age level played a round robin on Friday and Saturday, setting up championship play on Sunday. 

PBR was on hand for every game of the three day event.  Below are the stats compiled over the course of the game play.   Player notes and a scout blog will be released later this week.  For players that attended the PBR Scout Day, prior to game play beginning, their workout stats and notes will be held HERE.

Home to First Times

For each batted ball, in play, PBR Scouts were working to get accurate home to 1st times on the batter runner.  The only times that are posted are those where the runner was competitive throughout his route to 1B and those where the batter runner ran a straight line to 1B.  For plays where a batter runner may have arced or curved, as on a base hit looking to go to 2B, the home to 1st time was thrown out.

 

Catcher Pop Times

Pop Times were taken by PBR Scout between innings and during live game action.  Only those throws through to 2B, where the ball was handled cleanly by the catcher and middle infielder were recorded.  Below are the top pop times from the weekend.

 

Fastball Velocity

PBR Scouts were armed with Stalker Radar guns, working to collect as many velocity recording from the pitchers in live game action as possible.  Below are the top fastballs, and the top fastball ranges, PBR Scouts recorded during live game action.
