~ Player Notes ~

Carter Daniels (RHP, Spring Valley, 2021) - worked the FB up to 89 in his first inning of work. Erratic with the command at times but showed a solid bulldog mentality to bear down and escape trouble. Power breaking ball at 73-75 induced several swings and misses.

Billy Amick (3B, P27 Academy, 2021) - Controlled the box and displayed some big time power driving an offspeed pitch out of the park to deep LCF. Worked a walk later in the game showing a good understanding of the zone.

Cyle Phelan (LHP, Fuquay Verina, 2021) - Big time left handed arm. Worked downhill with the FB in the upper 80s and consistently worked it to the bottom half of the zone. Pitch showed life and proved tough to barrel. Mixed a quality offspeed pitch that was thrown with feel.

Auston Gordon (RHP, Myrtle Beach, 2021) - Big winner on the night. Ran the FB up to 87 in his first inning of work and controlled the lower half of the strike zone early and often. Gave hitters some trouble with a big breaking ball that ranged from 71-73 mph. Projectable 6-3 frame and arm action should help put him on the map.

Justin Lehman (C, Nation Ford, 2021) - High end defensive catcher with athletic actions behind the plate. Quiet hands received the ball with confidence. Back picked a runner at 1st and also threw a runner out on an attempted steal at 2nd. Several competitive ABs working the count and ended his night with a sharp line out to SS.

Bryan Arendt (C, Holly Springs, 2021) - Elite level defender controlled the game from behind the plate for the first two innings using his high baseball I.Q. to work well with the staff. Showed high level blocking ability, a strong arm, and quality receiving on balls at the edges of the zone. Solid hit tool, picked up a single to LF later in the game.

Archie Dean Herring (OF, Westchester Country Day, 2021) - High energy player sparked the offense for Team Carolinas. Collected two hits on the night and stole 3 bases.  Tremendous feel for the barrel and lightening quick hands paired with his speed make for a tough out. Plays a rangy CF with the ability to track balls down with ease.

Isaiah Lowe (RHP/3B, Christ School, 2022) - Ran the FB up to 91 mph with a clean arm action and strong frame. Also picked up a hit and walk at the plate showing his two-way potential. Athletic third baseman/RHP will be followed closely the next two days.

JP Cunningham (2B/SS, Lancaster, 2022) - the smaller profile pairs well with the twitchy athleticism. Took some bigger swings but also showed his ability to control the barrel. Lined out sharply to second and singled to RF, behind a moving runner, later in the game. Also had two stolen bases.

John Newton (OF, Cuthbertson, 2021) - flashed some serious pop with a triple to deep LCF. Showed off his speed and athleticism getting around the bases. Worked a walk later on an understanding for the strike zone
