2019 Future Games - Team Carolinas - Day 4 Quick Hitters

Team Carolina erases two deficits to come from behind and defeat Team Alabama

Team Alabama jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but saw that lead disappear behind back to back singles from Justin Lehman and Michael Gracer followed by a Billy Amick walk and Tucker Toman home run. That big inning would put the guys from the Carolinas up 4-2 through 4 innings. That lead would hold until Team Alabama scored 3 runs in the top of the 7th to take a 5-4 lead into the bottom of the 7th. Back to back doubles from Archie Dean Herring and Billy Amick would tie the game and eventually win it on a wild pitch. Hats off to both teams, with energy and effort was through the roof for the night cap of the final day of the 2019 Future Games.

+ Team Carolinas pounds out 6 six hits
+ Team Carolinas pounds out 4 extra base hits
+ Tucker Toman homers in the 4th
+ Stewart Evans, Archie Dean Herring, Billy Amick all double.
+ Jordan Little throws two scoreless working in the upper 80's
+ With the win Team Carolinas finish the Future Games 2-1

~ PLAYER NOTES ~

Archie Dean Herring (OF, Westchester Country Day, 2021) - finished off a strong weekend with a double in his final at bat. The rangy CF showed a quality hit tool all weekend collecting multiple hits and ending the event with 3 stolen bases.

Billy Amick (3B, P27 Academy, 2021) - showed off the easy gap to gap power he made a name for himself with on day 1 by doubling in the gap in his final AB. Amick showed the ability to take a healthy swing but also understands the zone evident by another walk.

JP Cunningham (2B, Lancaster, 2022) - the 2022 grad showed off his speed collecting his 4th stolen base on the weekend. He also reached on a walk, ending the weekend having reached base safely in every game.

Jordan Little (RHP, Hickory Grove Christian, 2021) - worked the FB into the high 80's with a loose whippy arm action. Showed feel for his off speed pitches and good control in his two scoreless innings of work.

Tucker Toman (3B, Hammond, 2022) - The switch hitting corner INF absolutely unloaded on a pitch for a monster of a home run to RF. Toman showed a loose rhythm and quick hands all week with elite raw power.

Isaiah Lowe (RHP, Christ School, 2022) - didn't allow a run in two innings of work running the FB up to 88. Worked the lower half of the zone with a controlled tempo and repeatable delivery. Proved himself as one of the top 2022 arms at the event.

Stewart Evans (OF, Scotland, 2021) - translated his 92 mph exit Velo into an AB with a rocket of a double into the LCF gap. The physical prospect played at every bit of the listed 6-1, 180lbs over the weekend, he also put down a 6.90 sixty time on workout day.

Justin Lehman (C, Nation Ford, 2021) - Lehman showed off a strong arm with his second back pick of the weekend, this one at second base. He also collected another hit, a sharp single to LF and showed some potential power driving a deep fly ball to the wall in LF for a loud F7.
