Preseason All-State South 2025: Quick Hitters Upperclass Pitchers

On Saturday, February 1st Prep Baseball of South Carolina hosted its Preseason All-State South at The Shipyard Park in Mount Pleasant, SC. The Preseason All-State leads to identifying prospects for some of the summer’s biggest invite only events like Boarder Battle, PB Senior Games, Top Prospect Games, PB Super Sophomore Games, PB SR Future Games and the PB Future Games. The event featured players from the 2025-2028 grad classes. 

During the event, position players participated in a professional-style workout that included a comprehensive defensive evaluation. Infielders and outfielders fielded ground balls and made throws, with arm strength recorded using a Stalker radar gun. Catchers executed throws to second base, with both arm strength and pop times measured.

Hitters underwent swing analysis with Blast Motion, while all ball flight data was recorded using TrackMan. Speed and explosiveness were assessed through Vald Performance lasers, capturing 10-30-60-yard sprint splits, along with jump metrics.

Pitchers threw a controlled bullpen session, where each pitch was tracked by TrackMan to analyze ball movement and overall performance.

QUICK HITTERS - UPPERCLASS PITCHERS

Hudson Sprovero, 2026, Hanahan HS

6-0, 180 lbs with a strong, athletic frame and lower-half strength. RHP with a long loose arm action to a ¾ slot and good extension out front. FB: 83-83 mph with run and sink (T1798, 1725 avg rpm). SL: 71-73 mph with good shape, feel, and short breaking action to it (T1911, 1722 avg rpm). CH: 77-79 mph with strong fade and sinking action (T1234, 1163 avg rpm).

Hank Grider, 2026, Dillon HS

5-11, 175 lbs with a strong, athletic frame. RHP with a short arm action to a H ¾ slot. FB: 81-85 mph with run and ride (T2128, 2060 avg rpm). CB: 68-69 mph with good shape, feel, and bite to it (T2198, 2145 avg rpm). CH: 73-75 mph with fade and sink (T2276, 2224 avg rpm).

Cole Harmon, 2026, Aiken HS

6-0, 170 lbs with a lean, athletic frame and lower-half strength. RHP with a long arm action to a ¾ slot and good extension out front. FB: 83-85 mph with ride and run (T2263, 2236 avg rpm). CB: 72-73 mph with good shape, feel, and swing-and-miss potential (T2425, 2367 avg rpm). CH: 77-78 mph with strong fade (T1908, 1797 avg rpm).

Kyle Kirkland, 2026, Clover HS

6-1, 175 lbs with a wiry, athletic frame with projection. RHP with a shorter quick arm action to a H ¾ slot and good extension out front. FB: 83-85 mph. (T2217, 2236 avg rpm). CB: 64-66 mph with good shape, feel, with an 2/8 break (T2265, 2165 avg rpm). CH: 72-73 mph with fade and sink (T1720, 1707 avg rpm).

 

Henry Wood, 2026, West Ashley HS

5-11, 200 lbs with a strong, proportional frame. RHP with athletic deliver and deception. FB: 81-83 mph with true life in the zone (T2126, 2057 avg rpm). CB: 67-69 mph with sharp bite to it (T2745, 2719 avg rpm). CH: 77-79 mph with big fading action (T1479, 1357 avg rpm).

Matthew Ogrzewalla. 2026, Wando HS

6-3, 205 lbs with a strong, athletic frame. LHP with a controlled pace, repeatable mechanics, and a quick arm from a ¾ slot. FB: 81-82 mph with sink and run (T2318, 2215 avg rpm). CB: 70-72 mph with sharp movement and big depth (T2349, 2284 avg rpm). CH: 71-74 mph with good feel (T1865, 1794 avg rpm).

Brayden Studebaker, 2026, Lexington HS

6-0, 162 lbs with a lean, projectable frame and athleticism. LHP with a twitchy, athletic delivery and a short arm circle from a low ¾ slot. FB: 79-81 mph with life at times (T2045, 1972 avg rpm). CB: 68-70 mph with good feel (T1909, 1881 avg rpm). CH: 72-74 mph with developing feel and fading action (T1591, 1475 avg rpm). 

Austin Vinson, 2026, Wren HS

6-2, 170 lbs with a lean, athletic frame. RHP with a long arm action to a ¾ slot and good extension out front. FB: 76-80 mph with good downward angle. (T2042, 1850 avg rpm). CB: 67-69 mph with good shape and feel (T2195, 2132 avg rpm). CH: 73-75 mph with fade and sink (T1333, 1300 avg rpm).

Jake Jepson, 2026, Wando HS

5-9, 165 lbs with a lean, athletic frame. RHP with a short arm action to a H ¾ slot. FB: 78-80 mph with armside run and ride. (T1903, 1778 avg rpm). CB: 69-70 mph with good shape and feel (T1663, 1565 avg rpm). SL: 69-70 mph drops slot with more side to side movement (T2128, 1949 avg rpm). CH: 73-74 mph with fade and sinking action (T1807, 1748 avg rpm).

Kory Brame, 2026, West Ashley HS

6-1, 170 lbs with a lean, athletic frame. RHP with a short arm action to a L ¾ slot. FB: 76-77 mph with good armside run. (T1962, 1926 avg rpm). CB: 67-68 mph with good shape and feel (T1949, 1883 avg rpm). CH: 72-73 mph with fade and sinking action (T1740, 1528 avg rpm).
