The Tennessee Diamond Notes is back for 2025 and will focus on highlighting some top performances across the state based on nominations from high school coaches. We will highlight those positions players, pitchers and two-way players every Wednesday of the high school season that are deserving to be highlighted based on their performance. 

Thanks to the many high school coaches that sent in nominations this week.

For now, let's take a look at those players from across the state highlighted in this week's Tennessee Diamond Notes.

TENNESSEE DIAMOND NOTES: WEEK 2

Eli Kelso CF / Loudon high school, TN / 2025 In 4 games would collect a .417 batting average with a 1.250 OBS, .750 SLG, with 1 double, 1 HR and 2 RBI’s. He would also go a perfect 2 for 2 on stolen bases.

Logan Moore OF / Loudon High School, TN / 2025 Had a great start against Powell where he got the complete game win giving up only 2 ER’s with 4 K’s. He would finish with a .280 batting average against him, while showing a presence in the zone where he threw 71% strikes.

Cainan Crowe C / RHP / Carter, TN / 2026 Has gotten off to a hot start at the plate where he batted .545 this past week with a.667 OBP that included twp doubles, 1 grand slam, and 7 RBI’s. He would also pitch 5 innings, giving up only 2 hits with 1 walk and 7 K’s with a .105 opponent batting average against collecting the win.

Colton Denton C / 3B / Hardin Valley Academy, TN / 2025 The Tennessee commit and former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Game participant had a strong week at the plate to finish the week with a .417 batting average, along with 10 RBI’s, 3 doubles and 2 HR’s slugging 1.083.

Nick Riordan SS / RHP / Knoxville Central, TN / 2026 The Missouri State commit and former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Games participant had another great week at the plate where he went 6 for 10 with 1 double, 1 triple and 1 HR, while also collecting 3 RBI’s, 5 runs and 3 stolen bases to 2 walks getting on base 8 out of 12 trips to the plate finishing with a .750 OBP against Karns and Hardin Valley.

Phinn Waters LHP / Briarcrest Christian, TN / 2026 The Texas commit and former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Game participant was remarkable down in Mississippi pitching against a strong Oxford team where he went 5 innings with 14 K’s and 0 runs given up. He would only collect one out by the defense.

Brayden Holland C / RHP / Briarcrest Christian, TN / 2027 In 4 games, Holland would go 5 for 10 with 1 double and 3 RBI’s, while also scoring 2 runs himself with another 2 walks. He showed well on the defensive side of the ball throwing 3 would be base stealers out on throwdowns, going 3 for 3 caught stealing.

Warren East OF / RHP / Oak Ridge, TN / 2027 EasT had another strong week at the plate collecting 7 hits with 1 double, 1 HR for an overall batting average of .583 on the week. He would also score 7 runs with 3 walks showing the familiarity with getting on base.

Michael Teasley 3B / RHP / Oak Ridge High School, TN / 2026 The Tennessee commit and former Prep Baseball Tennessee Future Game participant had a great week on both sides of the ball. Offensively he would collect 5 hits with 1 double and 2 HR’s finishing with a .566 average on the week. On the pitching side, he would win a district game against a young, but talented Halls team throwing a complete game giving up only 3 hits, with 1 walk and 2 runs, while collecting 11 K’s.

Peyton Witter 1B / LHP / Kingston, TN / 2025 Witter looked comfortable in the box last week where he found 6 barrels for base knocks, including 2 HR’s, 1 double, 7 RBI’s to a .462 batting average.

Kamden Welch 1B / LHP / Oak Ridge , TN / 2026 Welch has been a dude that we have followed for some time, all the way back to his freshman year where we first saw him in a start against Hardin Valley in the district playoff. He would collect a win against Halls with a complete game performance, where he gave up 0 runs with 0 walks. He would only give up 5 hits on the night with 9 K’s without allowing a baserunner past 2nd.

Bowen Combs OF / RHP / Meigs County High School, TN / 2027 The sophomore had a strong showing in the leadoff spot for MEigs at the plate finishing with a .714 batting average that included 1 double, 1 HR, 3 runs scored, 3 RBI’s and going 2 for 2 on stolen bases. For the season, he is hitting .545 (12-22) with 2 HR’s and 10 runs scored. He was also perfect at stealing bags, where he went 7 for 7.

Tate Murphy 2B / OF / Cumberland Gap, TN / 2025 Went 5-11 this past week that included 2 RBI’s , 7 Runs with 2 walks.

Will Lenczynski MIF / West High School, TN / 2027 Had 3 home runs in 3 straight games, while also hitting for the cycle where he had 5 RBI’s and a stolen base.

Cooper Williamson LHP / OF / Knoxville Catholic High School, TN / 2025 Had a very good week at the plate, hitting an impressive 13-16 with 1 double, 2 triples, 5 RBI’s. He would also score 5 run times and go 2-2 on stolen bases.

Rhett Hayes 3B / RHP / Giles County High School, TN / 2027 Collected the win in 5 innings pitched giving up 2 H’s, 0 ER’s, 9 K’s, 1 BB. He would also come in relief later in the week and go 1.2 innings, giving up 1 H and 1 ER, while also collecting 4 K’s to 0 BB for his total on the week ending in 6.2 innings giving up 3 H’s, 1 ER, with 13 K’s to just 1 walk.

Owen Jarrell 3B / RHP / Giles County, TN / 2028 4 GP with a .462 avg, .500 OBP, 1.115 OPS, .615 SLG with 6 hits, 2 doubles, 3 RBI’s to go with 1 run scores and 1 walk.

Stephen Bobo OF / LHP / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2027 The top-10 prospect is someone that we are dying to get our eyes on this spring and has already put together an impressive sophomore resume. For the week he went a perfect 9 for 9 with 2 doubles and 1 HR, while collecting 7 RBI’s in the process.

Braden Taylor LHP / Clarksville, TN / 2026 Threw a 5 inning no hitter against Niceville (FL) in the South Walton Classic to move to 3-0 on the season. He would finish with 7 K’s to one BB.

Noah Lyons 2B / OF / Fulton, TN / 2026 The Junior outfielder had a phenomenal week at the plate going 13-18 with a .722 batting average to go with 3 doubles, 1 HR, 12 runs scored and 7 RBI’s. He would also show his speed on the bases collecting 6 stolen bases. He would also pitch, going 1-0 for the week.

Harris Eddins / West, TN / 2025 Would go 3 for 8 with 1 double, 2 HR’s and 4 RBI’s in wins over Science Hill and Sevier County.

Shaeffer Sitton 3B / RHP / Stone Memorial, TN / 2028 Had a wonderful performance against Warren County on Tuesday night pitching 6 and 2/3 innings giving up 1 ER on 5 hits, while having a phenomenal K to BB ratio with 12-1. The freshman had a great showing in his first start against a solid team from a higher classification.

Jaden Pearman / Cumberland Gap, TN / 2027 Went 5 innings only giving up 1 hit with 0 ER’s and 5 K’s.

Drew McLemore / Giles County, TN / 2028 W in 5 innings pitched, giving up 0 hits, 0 runs with 4 K’s and 1 BB. Also came in relief and pitched 2 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 ER with 3 K’s and 1 BB. His final pitching stat line on the week would be 7 innings pitched, giving up 1 hit and 1 ER, while also collecting 7 K’s to just 2 walks.

Damarie Holt / Giles County, TN / 2027 In 4 games played this week, Holt would have a .417 batting avg, .588 OBP, 1.088 OPS, .500 SLG collecting 5 hits, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 3 runs and drawing 4 walks.

Brody Thomas / Shelbyville Central, TN / 2027 The sophomore is another guy that we have heard some rumblings about and are eager to see in person. He would go 5 for 8 with two doubles, 1 HR, while collecting 6 RBI’s
