Daily Roundup: March 16 Games

A much welcomed warm and dry day led to a lot of action on the diamond last night across the Volunteer State. Here is a look at some of the scores and highlights from games played last evening. 

Chattanooga Christian 14, Notre Dame 8

Mac Cochran went 4 for 5 with a double and Jared Miller went 3 for 4 with three doubles.  Zach Mercer got the win on the mound.

HVA 4, Karns 2

Dylan Harris had a huge night for the Hawks. Harris went 4 for 4 with a triple and picked up the win on the mound. Vinny Gambuzza also went 1 for 4 with a double.

Nashville Christian 6, Fairview 5

Michael Pope went 2 for 3 with a double and picked up the win on the mound. Jack Elliot went 1 for 1 with a double.

Cannon 3, Smith County 2

Mason went 2 for 2 and Judkins went 1 for 2 to lead Cannon over Smith County. Vasser got the win on the mound.

Hume-Fogg 13, East Nashville Magnet 7

Calvin Smith went 3 for 3 with a triple, and Josh Gunter went 3 for 4. Jeremy Bertrand had six strikeouts and picked up the win.

Webb School 6, Zion Christian Academy 5

Wright had nine strikeouts and Collins picked up the win on the mound for the Webb School. Wright also went 1 for 3 and Collins went 1 for 4.

TRA 5, Briarcrest 2

Gil Erwin had a huge night for the Rebels going 2 for 3 with a double and getting nine strikeouts on the mound. Connor Sanders went 2 for 4.

Science Hill 7, Dobyns-Bennett 6

In a huge rival game, Science Hill found a way to pull out the win. Landon Knack went 2 for 4 with a triple and Willie Wynd went 2 for 4 with a double. Garren Jackson picked up the win on the mound.

Bearden 14, Lakewood 9

Brandon Trammell went 4 for 5 with a double and Brock Vaughn went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. Clark Poynter picked up the win and had eight strikeouts.

Upperman 5, York 0

Monday night was all Winston Cannon for Upperman. Cannon went 2 for 3 with a double at the plate and had 15 strikeouts on the mound. Ryan Lafever went 1 for 2 with a triple.

Cherokee 5, Morristown East 3

JT Brooks went 2 for 4 and Ben Owen went 1 for 2 with a triple. Austin Adams got the win on the mound with 9 strikeouts.

Independence 9, Franklin 1

Tommy Morren had a huge night for the eagles. Morren had 11 strikeouts on the mound and picked up the win. He also went 2 for 3 at the plate. Carson Carroll went 3 for 5 with a double.

Chattanooga Christian 9, Signal Mountain 2

Brandon Mason had a big night going 2 for 4 with a double and picked up the win on the mound with ten strikeouts. Josh Taylor was 1 for 4 with a homerun.

East Hamilton 7, Bradley Central 1

Nick Fahler had a big day for the Hurricanes going 2 for 2 at the plate and picking up the win on the mound. Kyle Cox went 2 for 3 with a double.

Chuckey Doak 3, West Greene 1

Barkley had a huge night going 1 for 3 with a homerun and had 16 strikeouts on the mound to pick up the win. Riddle was 2 for 3 with two doubles.

Lexington 4, McNairy Central 2

Ethan Small and Tyler Anderson both went 1 for 3 with a double. Justin Blankenship got the win on the mound. Small started the game on the mound in front of a host of pro scouts. He racked up 13 strikeouts in six innings of work.

Harding Academy 2, Munford 1

Casey Harford had a big day going 2 for 3 at the plate and picking up the win with 13 strikeouts. Ty Wooton went 2 for 4 at the plate.

Adamsville 6, Madison 2

Allen Wells had 12 strikeouts and picked up the win to lead Adamsville to the win. Cody Meeks went 3 for 3 with a double and Cannon Smith went 2 for 3.

Collierville 6, Memphis University 1

Parker Phillips went 2 for 3 and Parker Cathey went 2 for 2. Bo Sutton picked up the win and had 10 strikeouts.

Claiborne 5, Cumberland Gap 4

In a rival game, Cedric Brown went 3 for 3 and Grart Brook went 2 for 4 with a double. Peyton Chadwell picked up the win on the mound.

Brighton 1, St. Georges 0

Matthew Jacome had 10 strikeouts and picked up the win Eli Davis went 1 for 2 and Bentley Jones went 1 for 3.

Allatoona(GA) 10, McCallie 3

Ethan Cady was 2 for 3 with two doubles but that wasn’t enough to get past a good Allatoona team.

Chattanooga Central 11, East Ridge 1

Andrew Bingham went 2 for 3 and Scout Morgan went 1 for 3 with a double. Andrew Bingham also had eight strikeouts on the mound and picked up the win.

Morristown West 12, Cocke County 1

Will Heflin had 10 strikeouts to lead the Trojans past Cocke County. Logan Willis went 2 for 2 with a double and Calvin Smith went 2 for 2 with a triple.

Fulton 4, Gatlinburg Pittman 3

Hayden Willard and Nick Wyatt both went 1 for 1 with a double to lead the Falcons in  a close district matchup. Adam Diggs picked up the win on the mound.

Rhea County 11, Boyd Buchanan 10

Swafford went 4 for 5 and Day went 3 for 4 with a double to lead Rhea County in a tough game. Kelon picked up the win with 7 strikeouts.

Happy Valley 10, Sullivan North 3

Ryne Baines went 2 for 3 and Hunter Townsend went 3 for 4 with a double to lead the Happy Valley offense. Ian Scruggs had 5 strikeouts and picked up the win.

Obion County 1, Blytheville ( AR) 0

Colton Easterwood had a 13 strikeout performance to lead Obion County to the win. Blake Berner and Jacob Hyde both went 1 for 1 at the plate.

Marion County 4, Lookout Valley 3

Corey Murray went 1 for 3 and Bryce Massengale picked up the win with 8 strikeouts.

Central 5, Oak Ridge 1

Alex Haynes led Central over the Wildcats with a 13 strikeout performance and going 1 for 3 at the plate. Freshman Garrett Hamilton went 2 for 3 for the Bobcats.

Sevier County 2, South Doyle 0

Dallas Gossett went 1 for 3 with a double and John Millett went 1 for 2 with a double. Devante Matthews had a huge night with 11 strikeouts and picked up the win.

Meigs County 5, Rockwood 0

Kennedy picked up the win on the mound with 4 strikeouts and went 1 for 3 at the plate. Baker led the Tigers offense going 2 for 4 at the plate.

Evangelical Christian 8, Fayette Academy 1

Benton Garrison had 10 strikeouts and picked up the win. Mason Hutto went 1 for 2 with a double and Alex Smith went 2 for 4 .

Houston 2, HVA 0

Sala went 2 for 4 and Blair went 2 for 3 to lead Houston over HVA in a huge matchup. Maxwell picked up the win on the mound.

Bearden 4, Pinellas Park (FL) 3

Bryson Ford went 3 for 4 and Conner Cameron went 1 for 2 with a double to lead the Bulldog offense in a tough battle. Josh Smith picked up the win for the Bulldogs.
