East Tennesse College Prospect Showcase: Pitcher Analysis

PBR Tennessee's first event in East Tennessee took place at Roane State Community College on September 21.  The following is analysis of the pitchers.  This is pitcher analysis only.  Analysis of position players who participated in the event took place in a previous article.

Brandon Jackson, RHP/OF, Knoxville Central HS, 2016
6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect with quick arm speed uses a medium arm action and an over-the-top arm slot, athletic frame, fastball tends to show arm-side run with 77-82 mph velocity, curveball has sharp downward action with little to no arm speed change and sits 64-69 mph, can throw changeup for strikes at 72-73 mph and shows to be third best pitch in arsenal, interesting prospect with some potential to improve.

Trey Batt, RHP/OF, Fairfield (OH), 2016
5-foot-11, 180-pound prospect uses a short arm action with high-3/4 arm slot, arm shows quickness, fastball sat 77-81 mph, touched 82, tends to be straight with occasional slight arm-side run, changeup was 65-68 mph  and shows good arm speed and arm side run that was thrown for consistent strikes,  12/6 curveball that was mostly up with inconsistent finish in the 60-64 mph range.      

Andrew Biddle, RHP, Knoxville Central HS, 2015
5-foot-10, 143-pound prospect uses long, loose arm action with sidearm arm slot, throws from stretch only, fastball was 71-75 mph, shows mostly  arm-side run, occasional cut, change-up thrown at near fastball arm speed and was 64-67 mph with good arm side run and sink, showed a developing slider at 61-65 mph with some lateral action.

Nick Stamps, RHP, Knoxville Central HS, 2015
5-foot-10, 150-pound prospect incorporates a medium arm action from the submarine arm angle, fastball shows considerable arm side run and clocked in the 70-74 mph range, changeup was 66-67 mph and  has arm side run with sinking movement, slider shows spin at 69-71 mph and needs to develop more movement.

Hunter Uselton, RHP, Siegel HS, 2016
6-foot, 155-pound prospect uses short arm action with high-3/4 arm slot, athletic frame, easy effort , fastball was 73-76 mph and touched 77 with some arm-side run, curveball thrown at near fastball arm speed and registered at 65-67 mph with 11/5 depth, throws a 67 mph changeup with arm side run, showed he can throw consistent strikes and attack the zone.
