Tim Kay
PBR Tennessee Director of Scouting

On Friday, Chester County traveled to Trinity Christian to play a varsity scrimmage.  Here is a look at some standouts (check out the Twitter feed for some video highlights):

Chester County Hitters

Drew Hill SS / 2B / Chester County, TN / 2018

Union commit shows an all-around profile featuring defensive tools, offensive ability.  Medium, physical build w/ present strength, some physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, straight up stance w/ short hand rhythm into leg kick and load.  Added leg kick since we saw him at Border Battle.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ occasional loft.  Feel for barrel.  Projects to hit for average w/ pull power.  Above average runner underway.  Defensively, shows soft hands w/ arm strength w/ carry to target.

Harrison Taylor OF / Chester County, TN / 2018

OF had a strong day, picking up 3 hits while recording plus run times on turns of 4.22 and 4.25 from the left side.  Short, athletic frame w/ present strength in lower half, some overall projection remaining.  Offensively, hits w/ a straight on, crouched stance w/ hand rhythm into stride to open w/ proper load.  Feel for barrel.  Up the middle to oppo approach on this day, wants to pepper gaps and use his plus speed to leg out extra bases.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Projectable pull power.  Plus runner wants to use his speed on the bases, was typically trying to steal within the first 2 pitches when he was on first base.  Defensively, possesses tools to profile as premium defender, developing first step.

Trinity Christian Academy Hitters

Lane Forsythe SS / RHP / Trinity Christian Academy, TN / 2020

Mississippi State commit continues to get better every time we see him.  Medium, athletic profile w/ some present strength, projectable.  Offensively, hits from a slightly open, slightly crouched stance into proper stride and load.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ natural loft.  Lower half and upper half work well together, stay in sync during swing.  Projects to hit for average and power.  Plus runner.  Was not tested defensively in game, but showed improvement in arm strength, as he jumped from touching 81 on the mound this September to touching 85 twice on this day.

Lane Lamberth OF / Trinity Christian, TN / 2019

Util picked up 2 doubles on this day, both driven to right center.  Tall, athletic frame, long and lean w/ lot of projection.  Just scratching the surface of his frame potential.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ short bat waggle into toe tap w/ short load.  Generates bat speed through the zone w/ loft.  Ball jumps off bat w/ backspin.  Projectable power ceiling.  Above average runner underway.  Defensively, played all around the infield, showing soft hands and easy arm strength.  Intriguing position player to see pitch.

Mitchell Sisk 3B / RHP / Trinity Christian Academy, TN / 2019

3B picked up a hit on the day, flashing tools to stay at third.  Medium, athletic frame w/ some present strength, physical projection.  Offensively, hits w/ a slightly open, upright stance w/ front heel off the ground and short hand rhythm into toe tap and deep hand load.  Generates bat speed through the zone.  Occasional arm bar.  Projects to hit w/ pull power.  Was not tested at 3B.
