EMERSON, GA—The 2020 National Program Invitational kicked off Thursday at LakePoint Sports Community with 82 teams competing across four age levels. There will be much more in depth coverage after the event, but here are some highlights from Saturday...

+ There was a palpable buzz around the NPI leading up to the tilt between Team Elite Scout and the Georgia Jackets. Sure, the winner would move on to the playoffs, but the hype around the pitching matchup was redlining and RHPs Christian Little (Christian Brothers College HS, MO) and Caleb Logerwell (Homeschool, GA) lived up to the hype.

Little came out sitting 90-92 mph and threw one changeup at 84 with fade in the first, setting the side down in order. Logerwell answered with 90-92 himself, while mixing in his trademark breaking ball at 80-81. He walked the first batter—SS Rob Gordon (Ben Franklin Academy, GA), who stole second, moved up to third on a groundout and scored on a wild pitch. Logerwell finished the inning with a flyout.
