PLUS: Game Report: Franklin County @ Columbia

On Friday, we headed to Columbia High School for their district tournament matchup with Franklin County.  In a tight, well-pitched game that you expect to see in the playoffs, Columbia won it 4-0 on a day where neither offense did too much.  Columbia was previously seen here (https://www.prepbaseballreport.com/news/PBR/PLUS-Game-Report-Lawrence-County--Columbia-7416038592?r=%2Ftennessee%2Fnews%3Fstate%3DTN%26fromdate%3D2019-04%26todate%3D2019-04)  Read up on players such as 2020 RHP Jaden Hamm, who struck out 12 in 5.2 innings:

JADEN HAMM / RHP / SS / COLUMBIA CENTRAL, TN / 2020

FB (83-87, T89), CB (69-73), CH (75-77)

-          1-3

-          5.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 12 K

Righty was dynamic on this day, showing a breaking ball that was about half a grade better from the previous look while touching 89.  Super projectable body, frame, delivery and arm action.  Arm really works, just waiting on the body to begin to mature to put up the velocity numbers he is capable of.  Throws a lot of strikes, 70 of 102 on this day w/ feel for his primarily 2-pitch mix, developing feel for the CH.  FB shows occasional short arm-side run, occasional ride through the zone.  Tight big downer CB was a true swing and miss offering on this day.  Late bite w/ depth.  Understands difference between get-me over and swing and miss.  CH showed arm-speed w/ short fade.  Generated 16 swing and misses on 42 swings (38 %), including 6 off 11 on the CB.
