At 6-foot-1, 188-pounds, Bryce Hodge is a sophomore infielder who has power potential, and he showed impressive tools, both offensively and defensively at last weekend’s Preseason All-State Showcase.

During Defensive drills, Hodge showed soft hands and natural instincts. He had good footwork and played through the ball well while showing an accurate arm across the infield at 74 mph, but that number was better at the Fall Top Prospect Games event where he showed 77 mph arm strength.

Offensively, the right-handed hitter showed fast bat speed with an 89 mph exit velocity off the tee. He has an aggressive approach and has good extension on his swing through the baseball. Hodge is a gap to gap type hitter with power potential and will be an interesting hitter to watch during his high school career. Hodge posted a 7.44 60-yard dash at the event.

Though Hodge currently plays SS for Halls HS, as long as he continues to show improved arm strength, he projects best as a 3B at the next level. Look for Hodge to have a breakout season for Halls this spring.
