Pitching is the name of the game when it comes to baseball. In order to have a successful team in this game you have to have a deep pitching staff and guys that can pitch in certain situations during a game. Hardin Valley Academy RHP Trevor Lloyd is a pitcher that has a chance to be successful for many baseball programs and pitch in many different roles to be effective.

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound RHP has a lanky frame that projects well. Working through a ¾ arm slot, Lloyd’s arm is loose and quick, and his fastball sat 80-83 mph, touching 84 with occasional late sinking action. He locates his fastball well, consistently pounding the bottom of the strike zone, and that, coupled with the late sinking action, should produce a significant number of ground ball outs. His curveball shows some depth, ranging from 65-70 mph with 11/5 action.  Lloyd also throws a 68-71 mph changeup with confidence that shows good sink and fade. He should have a chance to be very successful on the mound as he continues to fill out his frame with more velocity likely coming in the future.

Look for Lloyd to contribute to the Hawks deep pitching staff as he takes the mound this spring.
