At 6-foot, 180-pounds, Sean Kearney has a strong and athletic frame, and the sophomore 3B from perennial power Knoxville Catholic HS has a solid foundation from which to build upon, proving to be a player to keep a close eye on over the next few years.

Kearney participated in the Preseason All-State Showcase on February 7 and began his day by running a 7.40 60- yard dash, a number that should continue to improve some as he progresses through his high school career.

During Defensive drills, Kearney showed soft hands and good footwork. He currently has average arm strength at 76 mph across the infield, but it comes with little effort, and his arm is loose and athletic which should allow for the development of additional arm strength that will play well from his third base position. Kearney’s size and athletic ability fits him well for his position.

Offensively, the right-handed hitter showed an aggressive approach at the plate while maintaining good balance. He is a middle to pull-side type hitter that has potential to hit with power as he continues to develop his offensive game through his high school career.
