The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

*Please note that all information is based on team preview questionnaires that were sent out and returned by the participating high school coaches.

Team Outlook:

The Panthers turned in another strong season as they were the district tourney runner up, but they made a run to reach the state tournament. Unfortunately, they went 0-2 in the Boro to finish the season with a 25-15 record. They have a tight group that plays hard while leaning on defense and pitching this Spring. ‘23 SS Ethan Quinn turned in an all-state season while providing a tough out lefty bat in the lineup and playing a key spot up the middle. ‘23 RHP/OF Jake Swindle returns as the ace while mixing three pitches and pounding the zone. Swindle turned in a great game at State and will also play a role in the lineup. ‘24 OF/RHP Stone Wallace is back in the leadoff role with good speed and will be the number two arm. ‘24 OF/RHP Aiden Creasey is another three year starter that will contribute heavily as a two-way in a swingman role on the mound. These four upperclassmen have a lot of big game experience and will lead Riverside this Spring. They should be the favorites in district 13 and have the aspirations to make a return trip to the Boro this Spring.
