The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

Team Outlook:

Coming off a very impressive (37-2) state championship season in Class A in the 2022 high school season, skipper Brandon Bassham and the Eagles of Eagleville have their eyes on the prize and are looking to make another run again in the 2023 spring season. 

Eagleville returns five positional starts to their roster and six solid arms on the mound for them as well. They will rely heavily on that pitching staff as they all have varsity experience and plenty of postseason/playoff experience to go along with it. 

The Eagles will look for several upperclassmen to play as leaders this spring and continue their recent success into 2023, those upperclassmen include, 2023 2B Kolten Daniel, 2023 UTL Ben Thompson, 2023 RHP & Chattanooga State CC signee Daniel Floyd who will be a key piece to the pitching staff and a go to arm for the Eagles as his fastball plays in the low-80's and shows quality offspeed offerings, 2023 1B Trent Young, 2024 SS/UTL Brayden Baker, 2024 RHP/UTL Josh Jeffcoat who attended the Tennessee Preseason All-State back in February and showed some electric stuff on the mound, the long and lead 6-foot-3, 175-pound right hander worked in the mid-80's and ran the fastball up to 87 mph at times and will also be a vital part of the Eagles pitching staff this spring, another upperclassmen the Eagles will look to is 2024 UTL Nathan Brown.

With a talented roster looking to make another deep run in Class A this spring, count on Eagleville to make a push at another state championship this spring.
