The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

Team Outlook:

The First Assembly Christian Crusaders are coming off a sub state run in 2022 where they finished off a successful season with a (23-11) overall record. Head coach Jonathan Moody welcomes a stacked group back to his club in 2023 with eight returning positional players and seven arms on the mound.

The Crusaders will be led by their ace on the mound and 2024 RHP/SS Evan Bloomer, who also doubles with a quality stick in the lineup, 2023 RHP/C Sam Thomas who another catalyst to the offensive production, 2024 LHP/1B Kayden Hartunian shows some pop at the plate from the left side and has a chance to be a district arm on the mound for the Crusaders this spring, 2024 RHP/INF Josh Wright, 2025 2B Christian Forrest, 2025 C Carter Dennison who will serve as the starter behind the dish, and LHP/OF Grayson Gatewood who will be a vital piece on the mound for FAC and will see some time in the outfield as well.

With a well-rounded and developed roster with pitching depth, solid defensive play, previous experience and leadership, look for the Crusaders of First Assembly Christian to be hungry this season as they look to make a run past sub state this spring.
