The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

The Mt. Juliet Golden Bears are coming back off a (28-11) 2022 campaign in Class AAAA. Head coach Zach Tompkins welcomes back five positional starters to their roster and four starting arms from last season. With a talented roster again this spring, the Golden Bears have their expectations set high as they look to make a run this upcoming spring season.

The Golden Bears are led by several of their top returning players, including '23 RHP and Lincoln Memorial signee Keaton Reese, the right hander will log some meaningful innings for them this spring, fastball plays in the mid-to-upper-80's and flashes quality offspeed offerings to go with it. '24 LHP and Vanderbilt recruit Roman Petricca is another arm that the Golden Bears will rely on the spring, Petricca who was a member of Team Tennessee at the PBR Future Games this past summer is a crafty lefty who works in the low-to-mid-80's with the fastball and also mixes the curveball, slider and changeup in as secondary offerings. Another PBR Future Gamer from the Mt. Juliet squad is '25 C Baylor Osborne, the uncommitted catcher shows pop times in the (1.92-2.03) range and is a solid defender behind the dish. The Golden Bears will also look to '23 UTL Easton Krenzke, '23 OF Tyler Vestal, '23 C/1B Kyle Fitzgibbons, and '23 INF/C Grayson Fisher.

As we approach the upcoming high school season on Monday, Class AAAA should be a fun one to watch with the Golden Bears right there in the mix with a talented roster.
