The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

Team Outlook:

The Northpoint Christian Trojans and Head Coach Stephen Kirkpatrick are coming off a very successful 2022 campaign where they had a state runner up finish to go along with a (30-11) season a year ago. The Trojans will keep their eyes on the prize as they look to make another run in the upcoming 2023 spring season as well. Northpoint Christian returns a solid amount of starters this spring, five of which are positional starters and seven arms on the mound. With four players signed to play at the next level for the Trojans, they will rely heavily on those veteran guys and a handful of underclassmen to go along in the mix. Leading the Trojans in 2023 will be former PBR Future Gamer and Kentucky signee '23 1B/RHP Hudson Brown. Some other top prospects for the Trojans are '23 OF/LHP Conner McKnatt (Northeast Mississippi CC signee), '23 RHP/DH JB Williams (Northeast Mississippi CC signee), and '23 INF Rob Hayes (Northwest Mississippi CC signee). 

With the Trojans returning a handful of very talented upper and underclassmen, look for them to be a well-rounded squad in all aspects of the game at the plate, defensively and on the mound as well as they compete in a tough class D2-A in 2023.
