The 2023 high school baseball season is quickly approaching and as usual, excitement abounds throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons in Murfreesboro at The Spring Fling as they compete for a state championship, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews and by continuing other pieces of content covering the Volunteer State.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our players of the week, updating the Top 10 in each TSSAA classification as well as a Power 25.

Team Outlook:

The Eagles would fall under the “up and coming” category of programs. They finished 15-18 last year and reached the Region Semifinals for the first time in a while. They’ve continued to take steps forward and this year will feature a upperclassmen heavy roster. ‘24 RHP/SS Joseph Summers will be the ace and handle duties at shortstop while playing a key role in the offense. ‘24 RHP/INF Sydney Gregory and ‘24 C/RHP Nehemiah Cooney will provide depth on the mound and positionally while ‘26 RHP/INF Brendyn Arnold figures in the pitching mix as well. Oakdale will have a trio of seniors back as well with ‘23 INF Timmy Holder, ‘23 1B/RHP Dom Bonsignore, and ‘23 OF Tucker O’Dell. They’ll provide senior leadership with consistency offensively and defensively. ‘24 OF Aaron Dunlap will pair with O’Dell in the outfield with good speed. The Eagles will look to push district favorite Greenback and take another step forward in the postseason.
