The 2021 Spring Fling kicks off today with 32 teams still alive in their quest to capture a TSSAA state championship.  It was a great week of baseball as all the clubs make their way to Murfreesboro to square off in the final field of teams.  There are historic programs and some fresh faces amongst the classifications, which should create some intriguing matchups throughout the week. From our Preseason Power 25 Rankings, 12 teams have made the state tournament field, and now we update the board with the remaining clubs as 12 teams fell off during substate from the previous edition. The Power Rankings will be very fluid the rest of the way as teams that are eliminated will be removed from the ranks. As we've done with D2-A/AA, eliminated teams will start popping back up as the final number of active teams will continue to dwindle, as we'll release a final ranking to conclude the 2021 Tennessee HS season early next week. Dive in below as we rank and preview the final 32 teams in the field.

AAA: State Tourney Preview

This field of 8 can have anyone take the whole thing as each club won a big sub-state matchup to punch their ticket. Each club has a handful of skilled arms that can beat any team, so it will be a dog fight all week long. Farragut is the clear front runner amongst the group, as a historic program that's put together a tremendous resume to get here, but they'll have go through #2 Clarksville plus the new kids on the block #8 McMinn Co. (First state appearance in 118 year history) and #6 Hardin Co. (First state appearance in 38 years). More balanced on the other side of the bracket hometown club #3 Siegel will matchup against the red-hot #4 Beech Bucs then #7 Brighton will look to take on #5 Science Hill.

AA: State Tourney Preview

Extremely balanced bracket draw as far as seeding goes, as there will be a lot of good baseball this week in the AA classification.  #1 Pigeon Forge and #2 Nolensville will be the top contenders in the upper bracket, but #5 Signal Mountain is no slouch plus #7 Ripley has been on quite a tear to get here. Good blend in the lower bracket as each of these four clubs are peaking at the right time and will bring the excitement to Blackman each day.

A: State Tourney Preview

Another good field of ball clubs that have been consistent from start to finish this year, as each has several skilled arms with the top arm being Peyton Smith out of East Robertson. There has been consistent flip flopping in the top spot in the A classification between many of these clubs, so it should be a steady field of contenders as who will show up and play the best.

D2-A: Final Four Preview

Three of the four quarterfinal matchups went the distance last weekend with all four hosting teams pulling out the victory.  #1 CAK swept a very talented Columbia Academy team, and are in position to repeat for the fourth time.  #2 Northpoint edged out Knoxville Webb in three games and across the state line #4 Tipton Rosemark walked off Grace Christian Academy. #3 CPA has been one of the hottest clubs down the stretch as the took out The King's Academy last weekend, and they'll look to stay hot in Murfreesboro.

D2-AA: Final Four Preview

Baylor School, Briarcrest, and Brentwood Academy swept two games in the quarterfinals to advance to the final four while McCallie rallied to take the final two games against Lipscomb Academy to punch their ticket.  The defending champion #1 Baylor School is a clear cut favorite, but #2 Briarcrest has a deep squad and defeated Baylor once this season.  #4 Brentwood Academy has been the hot team coming out of Middle TN and #3 McCallie took down a touch LA club to get to the Spring Fling.  It should be some good matchups this week as the Championship will take place on Thursday.
