KNOXVILLE, TN - The Prep Baseball Knoxville Preseason ID was held on Saturday, January 25th at BC Athletics in Knoxville, TN. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Vald Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during a bullpen setting. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

Continuing our post-event coverage for the event, we take a look at the scouting reports on all infielders from the Knoxville Preseason ID.

INFIELDER REPORTS

Ethan Miller, Knoxville Catholic High School (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-11, 140 pounds. Wiry frame presently will a good makeup, will add lots of good size and strength soon.
Hit: RHH. Wide in his stance with his knees bent, his hands begin in a relaxed position at the rear shoulder. A quick weight shift rearward acts as his load with a small foot lift launching the swing. Rotates well with feel for driving the ball to the middle of the field. 63.3 mph bat speed with 18g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 88 mph max exit velocity (80.2 avg.); 290-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 72.00 mph. Long swing behind his body with a 3/4 release.
Defense: Is direct with his approach to the ball, can be upright at times. Shows still developing confidence with his glove.
Athletic Testing: 4.32 runner in the 30-yard dash.

Whit Renegar, Oak Ridge (TN), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/2B
Body: 5-7, 150 pounds. Compact frame with athletic actions, lean presently with room for more.
Hit: LHH. Simple and repeatable swing with a controlled leg lift which allows him to load the backside. Body accelerates very well after contact. Looks to let the ball get deep and drive it the other way. Timing can be very inconsistent and will often rush the swing when late. 60.2 mph bat speed with 10g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 79 mph max exit velocity (68.3 avg.); 250-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 76.00 mph. Presently has a short and compact arm action with a 3/4 release.
Defense: Good feel for creating timing with his footwork. Works well though the ball with present confidence with his glove.
Athletic Testing: 4.50 runner in the 30-yard dash.

JB Moore, Knoxville Catholic (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: SS/C
Body: 5-10, 155 pounds. Medium build with proportionate limbs, shows a lot of room to add size and strength .
Hit: RHH. Has a shoulder width stance with his hands in a relaxed position at the back of the body. His leg kick has a slight turn inward before a big lateral drive forward. Hands resist the forward move well creating a solid rubber band effect. Looks to drive the ball up the middle with a tendency to be quick through the zone. Hard line drives when bat is on plane. 66.4 mph bat speed with 5g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 mph max exit velocity (86.9 avg.); 276-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 79.00 mph. OF - 81.00 mph. Quick over the top arm action with a compact swing behind him.
Defense: Shows great footwork with smooth actions through the fielding process. Gains great momentum towards home.
Athletic Testing: 4.42 runner in the 30-yard dash.

Demarcus Lowery, knoxville catholic (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 5-10, 160 pounds. Plus build with a high waist, with elite athleticism.
Hit: RHH. Tall in his posture with a shoulder width stance. A controlled forward move sees him create great separation prior to an explosive launch through the swing. His barrel stays in the zone a long time with easy loud contact. Lives in the middle of the field with present ability to drive the ball hard the other way. 69.5 mph bat speed with 17g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 mph max exit velocity (90.5 avg.); 315-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 89.00 mph. OF - 88.00 mph. Above average arm for his class with a quick and powerful over the top arm action.
Defense: Great range to either side with smooth long strides.
Athletic Testing: 4.10 runner in the 30-yard dash.

Parker Waddell, Gibbs (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-8, 138 pounds. Small frame with quick twitch actions and good athleticism
Hit: RHH. Very wide stance with a slight turn inward of the front leg, his hands start extended behind the body. His weight rocks onto his backside with a small lift of the front leg. Leaves some strength on the table by never fully getting his backside through. Shows good rotation with feel for letting the ball get deep and driving it the other way. 52.8 mph bat speed with 17g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 76 mph max exit velocity (67 avg.); 238-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 75.00 mph. OF - 74.00 mph. Long but quick arm action with still developing strength, The quickness of his arm points to much more velo.
Defense: Developing confidence with his glove, but comes through the ball with solid aggression.

Branson Dean, Lenoir City (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6-1, 160 pounds. Lean frame with long limbs. High ceiling physically.
Hit: RHH. Wide and open stance with his weight favoring his back leg. Controlled move back to even prior to the swing launching. His hands begin fully extend above the rear shoulder, bordering on an armbar. Rotates very well with feel for letting the ball get deep. Great path through the zone will play as he faces better pitching. 68.3 mph bat speed with 23g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 94 mph max exit velocity (87.8 avg.); 315-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 78.00 mph. Over the top arm action with a short swing behind the body.
Defense: Solid feel for his mechanics, with developing smoothness through the ball.
Athletic Testing: 4.18 runner in the 30-yard dash.

Chandler Tyler, William Blount (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/1B
Body: 6-3, 185 pounds. XL frame with great projectability, solid size presently with room to grow.
Hit: RHH. Wide stance with tall posture, his hands are loose and begin towards the back of the body. A toe tap loads the backside prior to the swing going. Path through the zone can be very quick leading to varied contact. When he stays through the zone gets good contact through the middle of the field. 67.3 mph bat speed with 9g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 93 mph max exit velocity (80.5 avg.); 337-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 81.00 mph. Tight spiral behind the body into a low 3/4 arm slot.
Defense: Presents confidence with the glove, with solid range to either side.
Athletic Testing: 4.68 runner in the 30-yard dash.

Jack Hamilton, The Kings Academy (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-3, 213 pounds. XL frame with a strong lower half presently. Great projectability in his frame.
Hit: RHH. Tall posture with a slightly open stance, hands are loose on the rear shoulder. A controlled leg lift allows the swing to work around the back leg prior to launching. Rotates well with easy appearing effort to it. Is aggressive with his intent to catch the ball out front. Wants to get the ball in the air with natural lift to his line drives. 67.1 mph bat speed with 19g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 98 mph max exit velocity (88 avg.); 336-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 64.00 mph. INF - 70.00 mph. Short and compact arm action with a 3/4 release.
Defense: Shows present feel for blocking with good ability to kill it off of the chest. Stands up as first move during throw downs, decent ground gain to second. Moves well in the INF, with movements that profile to a corner spot.
Athletic Testing: 4.65 runner in the 30-yard dash.
