COLLIERVILLE, TN - The Prep Baseball Memphis Preseason ID was held on Sunday, January 19th at Collierville High School in Collierville, TN. Players went through an extended pro-style workout that included batting practice using Trackman, ran the 60-yard dash using Vald Performance, and much more. Pitchers were able to get numbers and metrics on TrackMan during a bullpen setting. There were some players who showed up and continued to build off of prior performances, but there were also some new names who jumped onto our radar with a strong showing at the event.

PITCHER REPORTS

Tyler DeHaan, South Gibson (TN), 2028
Positional Profile: RHP/SS
Body: 6-0, 155-pounds. Uber projectable frame with a high waist and long limbs. Shows advanced feel for body with more to come.
Delivery: Methodical with his motions, small step sideways into a tall but controlled leg-lift. Lower half works very well as he gets down the mound with nice sequencing of the hips. Repeatable actions with long levers.
Arm Action: RH. Arm comes straight down out of the glove with a stiffer spiral up to the throwing motion. Generates velo with an ease that will continue to grow as he does.
FB: T85, 83-85 mph. FB explodes out of the hand with late life. Has ride down in the zone. T2057, 2047 average rpm.
SL: 70-72 mph. Present feel for the SL with the ability to get it to the glove side. Sharp movement wi;; be a very effective weapon. T2011, 1819 average rpm.
CH: Does a good job killing spin with his CH which generates good arm side fade with depth. Same arm speed motion as FB that tunnels well when paired.
ATH: 7.23 runner in the 60.

Joshua Hull, Collierville (TN), 2026
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 6-1, 190-pounds. Plus frame with long extremities and present size and strength. Should continue to trend up.
Delivery: Very athletic motion and is loose throughout. His hands and leg go up at the same time before getting into his drive. Great use of the backleg into a great front leg brace.
Arm Action: RH. Big swing behind his body into a long but powerful 3/4 release.
FB: T84, 82-84 mph. FB has great life out of the hand with great ride, velo will come as he gets deeper into the spring. T2010, 1843 average rpm.
CB: 72-73 mph. CB is spun very well with big 3/8 movement. Distinctly shaped from the SL. T2369, 2261 average rpm.
SL: 74-77 mph. SL will be tricky to pick up out of the hand as it tunnels very well with the CB. Will keep hitters guessing. T2276, 2063 average rpm.
CH: 71-79 mph. Shows a feel for command with his CH, which will be good to show to get hitters off of the BB's . T2135, 1776 average rpm.
ATH: 7.23 runner in the 60.

Hudson Jacks, Memphis University (TN), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/LHP
Body: 5-10, 160-pounds. Proportional limbs with fluid athletic motions. Lots of room for more and will hold strength well.
Delivery: Worked primarily out of the stretch with a quicker leg lift. Shows very good feel for riding his back hip down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Tricky arm action with a crossbody 3/4 release. Late showing to the hitter will be tough on both sides.
FB: T84, 80-83 mph. His FB has life to it with a late cutting action. Will be a devastating offering as he develops velo. T2152, 2042 average rpm.
SL: 70-71 mph. Early feel for creating spin with his BB, sharp movement with 9-5 shape. T1651, 1610 average rpm.
CH: 66-68 mph. CH is best offspeed offering presently, great feel for killing spin with lots off late fade. T1644, 1482 average rpm.
ATH: 7.39 runner in the 60.

Jacob Martin, University School of Jackson (TN), 2027
Positional Profile: RHP/OF
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Long and lean at present with a high caliber of athleticism, should continue to develop very well.
Delivery: Loose and fluid with his delivery where he shows great feel for getting into his backleg and driving down the mound.
Arm Action: RH. Present elasticity in the arm-action with plus whippiness in the near future. Lots more armspeed to come.
FB: T86, 84-86 mph. FB has bore to it with a great feel for command, will generate swings and misses. T2163, 2114 average rpm.
CB: 72-73 mph. Plus spin on BB that should continue to develop as he matures. Get on top of offering well with more to come. T2543, 2381 average rpm.
SL: 72-75 mph. Present feel for spin, with a shape that looks the part of a + offering. T2466, 2420 average rpm.
CH: 77-80 mph. Current feel for killing spin with his CH with some feel for the pitch. T1790, 1694 average rpm.
ATH: 7.61 runner in the 60.

Harper Rushing, South Gibson (TN), 2028
Positional Profile: SS/OF
Body: 5-8, 150-pounds. Compact frame at present with twitchy athletic actions throughout.
Delivery: Smooth and methodical in his pitching motion with developing feel for getting down the mound. Does a good job hiding the ball behind his body.
Arm Action: RH. Loose arm action with a lower 3/4 release that is deceptively low. Great pronator.
FB: T81, 79-81 mph. FB has some late lift to it that can sneak up on hitters. Shape profile and arm action show that he can develop a great 2-seam/sinker. T2214, 1993 average rpm.
CB: 68-70 mph. Sharp 12/6 movement that tunnels very well with his other offerings. T2085, 2052 average rpm.
CH: 77-78 mph. present feel for the pitch w/ good arm side fade late. Can be a deadly offering as his velo picks up. T1860, 1704 average rpm.
ATH: 7.92 runner in the 60.
