2025 OUTLOOK
+ The Arlington Tigers made a statement last season en route to a TSSAA 4A state tournament appearance with a 33-8 overall record. The team had clutch performances from their pitching staff down to their lineup with 8 seniors that saw significant playing time. This year however looks a little bit different as the Tigers only return a handful of last year's squad that come into the 2025 season with starting experience. Some will say that this team will look a lot different than last years but I think the club has some exciting young talent that should fill in nicely with the returning groups of guys.
The path doesn’t get easier this year with strong in division matchups against crosstown rivals Houston and Collierville. The Tigers will also play Father Ryan, Christian Brothers, DeSoto Central, Briarcrest and Northpoint Christian. This will be a strong task for them but the leaders on this team should make a big difference. Senior outfielder Peyton Goolsby will see his opportunities blossom this year as he will be a major focal point in the outfield, as well as at the plate. Junior Harrison Polina was a Team Tennessee participant this past summer and pitched lights out against some of the most talented high school hitters in the entire country. He will be a major factor on the mound, where Arlington will have a legit ace to matchup against anyone. The Cincinnati commit transferred in last season moving up from 3A ball and didn’t get any playing time until the postseason. Having him fully this year will be huge for the club as he provides a spark at the plate as well where he should bat somewhere in the top half of the order. The Tigers also will rely on junior RHP Brayden Register, who operates in the lower to mid 80’s. The Tigers have a bunch of newcomers this season that will be relied upon to step into some big shoes.
Expectations have risen yet again at Arlington and even with losing a plethora of seniors, the Tigers return a few key pieces while also getting an influx of underclassmen that should set them up for success for this year and beyond.
