2025 OUTLOOK
+ The Briarcrest Christian School baseball program finished the 2024 season 28-14 and beat Christian Brothers 12-11 in a thrilling extra innings game. Briarcrest returns 6 starters and 5 pitchers from their championship team.
Briarcrest returns a strong senior class that should put the team in position to make another run in May. 2025 Trevecca University INF Landon Rogers returns to the top of the lineup for Briarcrest and will play 3rd base. Rogers is an athletic infielder that has a great mix of power and speed. 2025 University of Memphis RHP Lance Bryan will be a top of the rotation guy and has a legit 3-pitch mix that he attacks hitters with. Bryan has a fastball that has been up to 90 mph along with a slider in the mid-70s and a changeup in the low 80s. 2025 OF Houston Walker is a speedy center fielder that has a knack for getting on base. Walker was the leadoff hitter in 2024 where he will return this spring and be tone setter for the rest of the lineup. 2025 OF Luke McGee will be the left fielder and hit in the middle of the lineup. McGee had a tremendous 3 for 5 championship game to help lead Briarcrest. 2025 OF/RHP Caleb Cowles is another returner that will play right field and also contribute important innings on the mound.
The junior class brings in a loaded class with 5 players that should be big contributors in 2025. 2026 Texas commit LHP Phinn Waters is a former Future Games participant. Waters was electric in his Future Games appearance where he showcased a fastball up to 92 mph and a sharp slider that sat in the low-80s. He returns as one of the best arms in the state. 2026 Nate Powers is name to watch as he showed out at the Preseason All-State where he showed a fastball up to 92.7 mph and a developing slider in the mid-70s. 2026 INF Clayton Speck is another Preseason All-State standout. Speck showcased a 102.6 mph exit velocity and a 84 mph infield velocity. He is an impressive, tooled up infielder that should make a big splash this spring. 2026 RHP Spencer Moore is an arm that should contribute innings with a mid-80s fastball. 2026 INF Cole Photopulos had a great Preseason All-State that had a 93.8 mph exit velocity and a 7.06 60 time.
In the sophomore class, Briarcrest brings back two impact players. 2027 C/RHP Brayden Holland returns as the starting catcher where he shines as an elite defender. At the Preseason All-State, Holland showed a pop time between 1.87-1.89 and 85 mph from behind the plate. He also showed real pop with an exit velocity up to 97.9 mph, Holland will also be an important arm where he sits in the upper 80s. 2027 1B/LHP Brady Crenshaw is another player that will push for innings on the mound and ABs this spring.
Briarcrest returns the bulk of their championship team from 2024. They have an elite pitching staff complemented by a lineup that stepped up when it mattered during their run last spring. There are also some new talented pieces in the junior class that will take on key roles. Briarcrest will once again be primed for another run in Murfreesboro come late May.
