2025 OUTLOOK

+ The Lake County High baseball program comes into 2025 with some optimism after a disappointing past couple of seasons. Lake County went 4-22 in 2024 after going winless in the season prior, but a couple of factors do give this year's club some hope for a turnaround. Lake County brings in a very talented freshman class that should push for playing time immediately. Lake County also has incredible team speed, which was the one bright spot in 2024, where they stole over 100 bases. The team also returns 4 starters and 3 pitchers. Among the starters are two seniors.

Senior center fielder Camden Chamberlain returns after a big 2024 where he earned All-District and TBCA All-State honors. Chamberlain led the district with a .509 AVG along with 14 RBI’s and 25 SB’s. Another senior standout will be middle infielder Bryce Byrd who was also an all-district player and hit .319 with 13 RBI’s and 19 SB’s. Returning as the starting catcher will be senior Chance Estes. Estes missed all of 2024 with an injury but started his freshman and sophomore seasons and is poised for a big year. There are a couple of more upperclassmen standouts in the junior class. Junior utility man Nate Estes looks to solidify himself as an everyday player. Estes hit .255 as a sophomore and played every position on the field. Another junior that will be one of the top arms in the rotation will be RHP Antonio Molina.

There are several freshmen that will compete for playing time early on. Some of the names to look out for are Bryson Johnson, John Aydon Cochran, Sawyer Roberson, Cade Lanier and Jake Clanton. The 2028 class will go a long way to putting Lake County baseball back to competing for state championships like they did in 2021 when they went 29-8.
