2025 OUTLOOK

+ The Lincoln County High School baseball program finished the season going 25-13 and was eliminated by Beech in the sectional round. They will return 6 starters and 5 pitchers from last year’s team.

The senior class returns two impact players. 2025 Columbia State commit RHP/INF Sam Smith will once again be at the top of the order and the starting 3rd baseman. Smith will also be the ace of the staff. 2025 OF Brett Dobbs is a Sewanee football commit. Dobbs will be the starting left fielder and a middle of the order hitter.

The junior class for Lincoln County is loaded. 2026 INF/RHP Rhett Persell has been an eye opener for the PBR TN team. He has put up big numbers with a 100 mph exit velocity and 90 mph on the mound. Persell is the shortstop and 3 hole hitter and will open a lot of eyes as an uncommitted prospect this spring. 2026 LHP/OF Ian Weaver returns as the center fielder and cleanup hitter for Lincoln County. He is also a big arm up to 89 mph on the mound. 2026 C Colton Tate is coming off injury and will take over the starting catcher position. 2026 INF/RHP Mick Smith will be another reliable arm and his fastball sits in the upper 80s.

There are two underclassmen that will be impact players for Lincoln County this spring. 2027 LHP/OF Clint Quick had a big freshman year hitting .349 and also being 81-84 mph on the mound. 2028 INF Carson Haney is a former Junior Future Games participant and was the starting shortstop all weekend. Haney is a hard worker and solidified the position showing advanced skills at a premium spot. There is no doubt that Haney will be an impact player for Lincoln County on day 1.

Lincoln County had a huge year in 2024 and will look to repeat their success with a veteran group. They should be in a great position to get back to the regional round with a deep lineup and strong pitching. Look out for Lincoln County as a darkhorse to make it to Murfreesboro in May.
