2025 OUTLOOK

+ The Sevier County baseball program finished the 2024 season going 26-11 and was eliminated by Oak Ridge in the sectional round. The Smoky Bears were led by a senior heavy class and only return 3 starters and 2 pitchers from that team.

The senior class is led by three big arms. 2025 Alice Lloyd College commit Anikan Floyd is a strike thrower who has been up to 84 mph. He was a huge arm down the stretch for the Bears. 2025 LHP/1B Isaiah Pappas was the winning pitcher in the region championship game that sent Sevier County to the sectional round. Pappas will also be a big bat in the middle of the lineup. 2025 Walters State commit OF/LHP Eli Koch brings big pop to the top of the lineup and will be counted on to throw more innings this spring.

The junior class returns two big bats. 2026 INF Jacob Greene has great size at 6’2 285. He will return as the leading hitter from 2024 which earned him a Super Sophomore recognition. 2026 UTL Braden Huffaker is a guy that can play anywhere on the field and adds a solid bat to a top heavy lineup.

Sevier County made a great run in 2024 and were a game away from making it to the state tournament. There are a lot of pieces that they will need to replace in 2025 but they should be strong on the mound which will give them a chance to win and return to the regional round of the playoffs.
