Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams across Tennessee.

We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams across Tennessee. We will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Power 25 rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

2025 OUTLOOK

+ The Sweetwater High School baseball program finished the 2024 season 32-12 and was eliminated by Smith County in the state tournament. Sweetwater returns 6 starters and 2 pitchers from last season.

In the senior class, Sweetwater returns two impact players. 2025 UTL/RHP Jayden Richesin returns as last season’s District Pitcher of the Year where he posted a 2.25 ERA. Richesin is a big time strike thrower and also a reliable bat in what will be a young lineup. 2025 C Cade Houser will be the starting catcher for Sweetwater. Houser is a gamer that hit .326 last season along with 28 stolen bases.

In the sophomore class, 2027 MIF Bryson Burgess was the top freshman in the district. Burgess made an impact in every facet of the game. Burgess hit .326 as a freshman while also playing great defense up the middle. Burgess was also an impressive 5-1 on the mound with 3.15 ERA and 36 K’s. He will be the leader of a strong underclass.

Sweetwater returns a solid senior class from a team that made a run at state, but they also have a strong freshman and sophomore class that should help propel them back to the state in the near future.
